Icon3 For Paul Newman Fans

The UK's TV Times magazine (a TV guide) has just released a set of previously unseen photos of various celebs from its archive. Here's one of Mr Paul Newman with his eponymous timepiece.

Cool. Newman sure was dedicated to the Daytona (Except in Color of Money).

I actually got to see him up close at Lime Rock on a Test Track Tuesday in 2006, during a break in my Skip Barber Racing School program. I was gawking at the control panel in his Bob Sharp Corvette and looked over and he was actually sitting in the cockpit looking at me while I was gawking. I felt pretty silly, but I supposed he liked having his amazing race car admired. He was there almost every week on Test Track days. Amazing car. He blew everyone else on the track away with it...

I wonder how many people would try to dig up his grave if I mention that it was buried with him....

I grew up across the street from one of his daughters. I'm sure he'd visit from time to time. Should have knocked on the door! Ha!

Given his extensive links through the years with charities, I wonder if his Daytona may eventually go to auction for a good cause? As you state, would probably go for mega money!

Yes, very cool. BTW, the documentary on his racing career is on amazon.com and free
with prime right now. Definitely worth watching. I had no idea the extent of his
racing career and talent/dedication. There a few visible watch shots also ;)

The documentary is "Winning, the Racing Life of Paul Newman" and definitely worth a look, I had no idea how accomplished a professional racer he was.
