Vietnam War Rolex Submariner 5513 - Value?
Hello All!
I am new to this forum, but joined looking for some help. I have a Rolex that is from the Vietnam war - my mom was engaged to a Marine who won it in a poker game while over there. Sadly he passed away when he got home from the war in a mining accident and she has had it ever since. We are trying to get it appraised but unfortunately no one around where we live seems to know much about vintage Rolex's, and the value's i have received are all over the place - including one guy telling me it's fake but would give me $20 for it....nice try!! It has a few small scratches on the face, some light scratches on the band, and back of the watch face, but all in all it is in pretty good shape for how old it is. I do not have the box or papers that go with it, the watch is all i have. I have included a few pictures, and am hoping that someone can help me with an appraisal? Also, can anyone recommend someone in the Pittsburgh area that i could take it to for a live appraisal, and servicing? Thank you in advance! |

I'd contact the people at HQ Milton. I think Jacek can give you a good value estimate for the watch to get you started. You'll need more/more detailed/sharper photos.

Looks like a very nice Meters First Sub,I would think 6K is at the bottom of the Value scale. We would need some better Pictures to further evaluate it though.

Starting at about $8k now ...
We're guessing a bit from those pics but if you have a ...
... Genuine low mileage mid - late 60s' 5513 Submariner ... Correct metres first dial (desirable) and matching hand-set ... Nice original fat font insert ... Correct date matching rivet bracelet ... something like that seems to start at about $8k now for a private sale. Established dealers would ask more. Difficult to see how good the case is and any doggy or incorrect components shaves value off any old sports Rolex. That said, the OP's watch looks like it may be rather nice. |

6k is too low for this watch. Aim higher (At least 8k).

$8,000 seems about right in the current market.
Nice Meter first dial Nice Puffy lume with matching hands Long 5 insert That 7206 bracelet is worth 1.5k alone
