I totally hear what you're saying here. If it were you and you wanted to spend say 5 -6 days in the area we are looking at, would you recommend Sorrento over Possitano? Then move down to the south?

I appreciate the recommendations

You are better off to start from Sorento, everything seems a little easier to access from there rather than Positano.
