Yahoo Email service ending ?

Hi everyone,
My parents both have Yahoo free email account and they have been getting email about something about them needing to make a decision about their email accounts. Is Verizon changing the Yahoo Accounts to fee based service ?
Thank you.

Verizon bought Yahoo and things are changing over in June. New terms of service (everyone with Yahoo account received this yesterday).

Accounts will still be 'free' for now.

Don't know what your mom is looking at--probably some scam, but I just read the new terms of service and I see NOTHING about paid options.

Now, it clearly states Verizon can and will shove advertising down your throat you CANNOT opt out of and a bunch of other fun stuff. It's why I got off of Yahoo long ago.

I'm with the Canadian version of Yahoo mail, I've had it for almost 20 years!! Hopefully it doesn't bail on me now
