I think it's hard to comment on this not knowing all the facts. It is very common for watchmakers to buy valuable pieces for next to nothing from owners who don't want to fork out the money to service a broken watch.

The fact that the shop let her know how valuable it is says a lot about them in my book. As long as the buyer and seller are happy who are we to get in the middle?

Same difference.... They start at one price and lower their commissions vast amounts to get the sale based on the sellers bottom line.

Just left the shop, got to meet with the buyer, who would like to remain anonymous at this time, and talk watches. Fun afternoon, just wish it was my Christmas present haha!
