Icon14 1985 Rolex 5513

Hey guys!

Very exciting day today. I've been saving up for my first genuine vintage and I've been torn between the Tudor Snowflake and Rolex 5513. I worked with Jacek from HQ Milton and he guided me through the process. I currently have a new genuine Tudor BBB on a nato strap and I really wanted a genuine vintage to pair with it. Jacek recommended the 5513 over the Snowflake, because I already had a Tudor. His inventory of 5513s was mind-boggling. Over 30+ pieces to choose from. He was able to walk me through all of the conditions and differences of the 5513 and I settled on a very special 1985 Rolex 5513.
  • Never polished and hardly worn. Very thick lugs and sharp edges.
  • Everything is 100% original, not modified, and no service replacements!
  • Almost new condition.
  • Very tight bracelet.
  • Beautiful matte dial.
  • Very creamy lume and hands.
  • Came with papers and box.

Needless to say, I am more than happy with Jacek and my new Rolex 5513!

Nice, I also got mine from Jacek recently. Been wearing it for a week now, a 1988 one.

Had to do a double-take the other day when I saw HQ Milton selling a 1989 5513 with box and papers for $8.2k.

1985 Rolex 5513

You can't go wrong with a vintage no-date sub. Love that puffy lume and the case is just perfect.
Compliments on your newest catch

There are some watch lovers who would not consider this a vintage piece because it has WG surrounds on the hour markers. I'm not one of them. This is clearly a beautiful vintage Sub with great tritium patina! Congrats!

Hehe; it's over 30 years old, so it's a vintage in my eyes, so that's all it matters!

Also thanks for all the comments and feedback, guys. Very, very happy with this purchase and happy to join the club!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed the recent increase in prices lately....something definitely in the works in the market. I'm thinking that the record setting auction results coupled with the increased interest in certain parts of the world with excess money to burn has resulted in driving up the prices on less "desirable" vintage pieces as well as the later 5513's with WG surrounds and also you might notice the prices that 16800's are fetching lately..good for those who have them already, but a shame for the new collectors without really deep pockets!
