First Cruise Tips? Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth, Castaway Cay

Good morning,

I am going on my first cruise this summer for my honeymoon! I just need to figure which excursions I should do. We will be doing the Disney Cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth and Castaway Cay. Any tips? Things we would ideally like to do are:

Swim with dolphins (several of the locations have this- which is best?)
Snorkel in some clear water
Ride something with a motor fast (jet ski or ATV on beach)
Something cultural (I was thinking of Chichen Itza)
Learn about Cuban cigars

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

The BLNR will be traveling with me.

As far as Cuban cigars, in Grand Cayman and Cozumel, go only to La Casa Del Habano.
The rest are all fakes.
The one in Cozumel has amazing food.

In Cozumel and Grand Cayman, both have the helmet dive that is loads of fun, even for my non swimming wife. Also the submarine is awesome.

Whatever you need in Cozumel. Let me know, I live here. The best tour company is Explora, and my recommendations for food is caracol ceviche and fresh dorado (mahi mahi).

Thanks for the advice. I haven't given the helmet dives much thought but it might be a better option than snorkeling for my non-active lifestyle.

On the days at see and the Castaway key day, sign up for mixology. It's so fun and the best deal on the ship. Also don't miss Palo or Remy they are both fantastic. Have fun!

We love cruises.

Cozumel we rented scooters and went around the island on our own for some culture. Wife is bilingual so it helps.
Grand Cayman is the cleanest and nicest place you will go. Many of the beach front bars for food and snorkeling is fun and what we like. If you want to buy a watch go see Karen at Kirk Freeport. She is awesome.
Jamaica is an absolute dump and you do not want to travel solo there. Make sure you book a group adventure or stay within the ships area. We did a river tubing excursion and had a blast.
Castaway Cay was fun. Disney is amazing and of course puts on a show.

On the ship hit all the nightime shows. Comedians and shows on Disney are second to none.

Lastly enjoy.

It looks like you've gotten enough advice from others so I'll just say relax and enjoy. And a big congrats to you and your future bride.
My wife and I have been on 18 cruises so obviously we love cruising.

Swimming with the Stingrays in Grand Cayman is an unforgettable experience. We have also enjoyed visiting various Myan ruins while visiting Mexican ports.

I've been to all those ports with the exception of Castaway Cay since I've only been on Royal Caribbean. We've done excursions to Passion Island in Cozumel and the beach there is fantastic. The shopping and 7 mile beach in Grand Cayman are 2 of the reasons we liked it so much, and that the island itself was very clean.

I agree with Goin2drt on Jamaica. We made a stop there once and I'd never book another cruise there. I'd just stay on the boat that day and enjoy all the amenities.

I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on Jamaica We have visited it a few times and have experienced pick pockets, the cab driver smoking a joint as big around as my wrist, and the most aggravating was being harassed the entire day by two thugs trying to sell us drugs; they were like mosquitoes, we finally had to head back to the ship to get rid of them. We stay on the ship whenever this port is on the itinerary now.

Grand Cayman:
I did a 4 part tour that started with a Swim with the Rays.(awesome) A visit to the Rum Cake store.(money grab but good cake!) and then visited a place called Hell (another gift shop/money grab) and then an animal sanctuary/turtle farm. My recommendation for you would be swim with the rays only and then hit a beach. Also there's are a lot of nice watch stores right across the street from the port too so you should have some time to check out watches.

Jamaica: (I have a different take than others)
I had a 3 part tour with a local tour guide named Courtney Taylor. He has a very large tour business in Jamaica and I always felt safe. They were awesome, Google him.

First part of the trip was the Dunn's river falls(great) second was River tubing(great) and last was the Irie Blue Hole(great) The on the way back we ate the best Jerk Chicken ever at Scotchies. Full day but way worth it.
