I'm trying to sleep here....

As anyone who's ever stayed overnight in a hospital knows, you ain't gonna sleep unless they put you in a coma.

Constant beeping, loud nurses, sharp objects....

It's like trying to sleep at the dump with all the garbage trucks backing up.

...are you in the hospital? Is it because you didn't screw the pushers in all the way on your Daytona & the Swiss police came & broke your hands?

Welcome back. You sound like you got sunstroke in Kauai.

If you're tired enough, you won't need any anesthetic to sleep
believe me, I've been in worse case

They have to use the machine that goes PING! Or they’ll catch hell from the administrator.

I may have had some mai tais. It's the only place I have ever, or will ever, order mai tais. I generally do not drink & if I do, it's in extreme moderation (2 max). We rented a Subaru Forester (lifted a bit & on mud tires) that my wife really, really enjoyed driving. So, I was covered on the "DD" front!

I've only been in hospital twice in my 72 years. I don't remember much about the first time but the second time (I was 20 yrs old) I remember that the pretty nurses used to come in and wake me up at about 0500 to see how I slept! The answer was "Come back in about three hours and ask that again".
The truth was that they wanted me awake because it was 'Breakfast time'.
I also remember that the same pretty nurses would come in to my room and sit on the bed and want to chat with me while I was trying to take a crap on the bedpan in the corner. Maybe routine for them but highly uncomfortable for me.
