It’s not that strange for a watch to get separated from its documents; remember, not everyone is a watch nerd. Besides, papers don’t prove shit these days anyway.

OP did say the watch was seized and put up for sale against the original owners will. I have a feeling the watch was separated from its papers when it was seized.

Probably. It’s all relative. My F serial mark 1 flat four with papers and box was bought by me from trusted seller....for 7200$. Prices have really changed in 5 years.

I took this one in on a trade back in 2013. Was in this one for around $5k. Have since sold it Still have an F and early D serial LV in the collection. There is something special about the original LV. Was my first Rolex.

True, but the question is why leave the stickers on and keep everything else that came with the watch and then get rid of the most important piece outside of the watch itself. With a hot watch that as other have mention can be pieced together easily I wouldn’t have gone near it for that price.

Nobody got rid of the papers. All assets were seized, if watch is in the safe and papers are in filing cabinet then they're still in the filing cabinet.

IMO if the papers are not with the watch and whereabouts are unknown then the papers are gone. It’s like saying they are not lost, but nobody knows where they are.

agreed. I was referring to your point of why get rid of the papers by answering that it wasn't voluntary, watch was seized.

It's nice that you have the original green hang tag. That is a bonus in further verifying the watch as a 16610LV.

You can get service repair estimates from Rolex for $150. This document will identify the watch as an LV if a genuine watch. (If you decide to have the watch serviced, the $150 estimate expense is credited to the service.)
