Tag 6000 Chrono
Ok guys I need some opinions. I have my first what I would call a “nice watch” that I bought probably 20yrs ago. It’s a Tag Heuer 6000 Chronograph Quartz. I just had it’s serviced directly at Tag and spent $780. It looks basically new now. The problem I have is that I never wear it anymore and it just sits in my watch box. My question is should I sell it? It doesn’t really have any sentimental value to me, but I just spent almost $800 to have it serviced. I wouldn’t even know what it’s worth. I don’t have kids so that’s not an option. I could give it to one of my older brothers, he’s not a watch guy but seems to only like my Rolex watches. So what’s the consensus, any opinions?

If it's not getting use, I would think sell it.

Why did you spend $780 on a watch that doesn’t have any sentimental value and something you’re not going to use anymore. You should have just sold it as is. If it’s really just taking up space and don’t care for the watch anymore, I’d sell it and have someone else enjoy the watch.

It was expensive but it was done directly at Tag. It was never serviced so I guess I just wanted it back to new no matter what I decided to do with it.

Quartz service on Swiss watches usually is expensive. Go ask what servicing a quartz Royal Oak costs! It's not as simple as opening the caseback and swapping the battery!
To answer your question: it's worth just about what the service cost or a couple of hundred more. Also very, very hard to sell. I would keep it. If you sold it you would be practically giving it away for almost nothing.
