Vintage Incoming

I really enjoy dress watches from the 1950s era.
While innocently perusing the TRF “for sale” area, I encountered this beauty and it followed me home........ or so I will be telling my wife

1951 Longines Automatic in 14K YG

And many thanks to Jason ( Knappo 1307) for a flawless transaction!

Seems as though Longines is often the forgotten cousin of great Swiss watches form that era, and I'm not sure I understand why they got there.
Their history is a proud one.

I really enjoy wearing my Mystery Dial.

Enjoy yours Very smart looking piece.

FWIW, there was a slight scuff mark on the crystal around 12 which I knew about at the time of the sale.
3 minutes with some whitening toothpaste and voila

Who needs Polywatch?

That’s when Longines made quality watches.

I did reach out to Jason regarding this as well.
By the time I got to the TRF listing, the watch had already been shifted to eBay for auction
It was out of my hands at that point. I would have worked through TRF had I gotten to the posting in a more timely manner.

As to pricing, I believe in a free market, baby

Appreciate the congratulations, Adam

Well, for me, a win would be having my chip pulled for the Sub drawing on TRF.

The highest bid remains a business transaction and thus,
a lot less of a thrill

Although it was fun during the process, HaHa.
