LV Pricing

I got this off the Rolex faq sticky with regards to the LV price
16610LV 4875.00 50th Anniversary SS Submariner with Date

Don't want to beat a dead horse with a stick, but anyone know if this is still up to date?

I'm hoping to pull the trigger on an LV within the next few weeks, should I expect this price?

No price hike in NZ. From what I've seen of LV prices on various sites, it's always above the 6,000 mark. So the price Spencer is getting it at is damn good. If he really wants it, that would be a really good price to get it at.

Yep, that's a list price...the problem is the availability...Do you know any AD that may have that right away? I'm looking into that to be my first one.

Rto,

You're in the USA and I'm like a million miles away in one distant corner of this earth - NZ. LOL! Your best bet would once again be Bob, the guy I had recommended earlier. He could try for you and still get you a good price. Bob's a good guy!!

Good luck - JJ

Why don't you send Spencer a PM and ask him if he has the same contact for you. The price of $4,875 is excellent. Maybe he could help you.

JJ, on TZ and most other watch boards, the price is dropping alot, around 5K or so.

Not that I have been looking at SC's to possibly flip anything.

Why does full list sound like a good price, certainly the market is realizing this was not a limited # release and that there are LVs to be had, or am I wrong?

It's called brilliant marketing, Brian, something Rolex is a master of. Make people think they're getting something special and in limited supply and they will drive the price up of their own accord.

I like the new enhancements in the LV and could see myself buying one, but I think I will Wait and see if they continue them into the future releases..of course with a black bezel and at the expected 10 to 15 % off list :-)

Rock is correct, everything is part of the game...List price is something established by the manufacturer in order to determine value of the product as well as try keep a good margin to the AD network and to avoid a price canibalism.

List price starts being a good price point when the demand is much bigger than the offer (maybe that is what is happening righ now with some models like the LV, Daytona SS). There is no reason to the ADs, apparently, give discounts on those models if they simply cannot get it from the manufacturer. (maybe 1-4 units per year each).

The other factor that I might be happening right now is that Rolex might be slowing / holding the deliveries because of a price increase announcement to be done sometime soon or the demand is huge comparing to the production.

Does anybody have any info on a price increase?(when e what is going to be?)

Hi Rto,

By that last statement, I presume you mean when would Rolex be starting up the next series, namely 'E'?

If so, the E-series finished off many years ago. With Rolex the series does NOT go alphabetically. In recent years, we've had K, Y, F and D in that order. As you can see, there is no alphabetical pattern whatsoever. No one knows what the next letter will be.

The current D-series started in April 2005. Each series usually lasts for around 18 ~ 22 months depending on production. I know for a fact that the F-series seemed to go on forever before the D-series arrived on the scene.

Cheers - JJ

When? I don't think anyone here is positive about that. How much? Usually 7% here in NZ.

Well, if you really want it then, like I said, get in touch with Spencer. I'm sure he will not mind putting you on to his source.

I’ve got a local and an out of state AD who I think I can get an LV from within a week or two at list. Whether or not they have additional ones I’ll find out. I’d rather go through my out of state AD so I can save on the tax.
