5164 and 5712 owners please give your thoughts
Okay, so I have another incoming in a different section. It's gonna be gooooood. But that won't be in mid December. In the mean time as I look to replacing my 5711 I'm considering a 5164 or a 5712. Those who know my previous dilemma about the 5712 may know what's coming in December hehe. But this choice is very hard indeed. Don't go telling me to keep the 5711 cause it's already gone after 3 weeks and no love (I would rather where my RO anniversary in I'm going for the clean blue dial, blue the RO's blue datewheel gets me)
Anywho, any owners of either chime in. Thanks! I'm no where near making up my mind. For me, I love the 5712's asymmetry and the moon disc is sweet. But the 5164 has a more practical movement and I actually like the deployant and rubber strap on the 5164...at first I didn't but it's comfy. Anywho enough now your thoughts!!! |

I agree that the asymmetry of the 5712 is quite charming (and it is symmetrical about a line between 1 and 7). I prefer the complication of the 5164 and that would be my choice , though the 5712 is also lovely.

5712 for me. One of the most beautiful pieces out there.

Thanks guys this is helping me for sure. Ultimately I know it's up to me but I like getting some feedback. As some may know I had a 5712R and gave it up because I didn't like the leather and lug setup.
I hope there is at least one 5164 owner on TRF to chime in. |

I have he 5167 & its a keeper.
Recently tried on the 5712 & found it to be small on my wrist. As a reference to our similar taste, RO anniv incoming for me tomorrow.

The 5711 dial was too sterile for me, though it is a beautiful watch no argument.
I was undecided between the 5726 white and 5712. I hemmed and hawed for about a month and finally got the 5712 and couldn't be happier. Love the moon complication and the 5712 dial. Regards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

5712 gets my vote, less practical than the 5164 perhaps (although that would be only if you are a big traveler) but the moonphase indicator is a very nice complication and both the date and the power reserve are pretty useful in my book.

Choice is pretty much made in my mind. Still going to see a 5164 in the metal. But I think we all know what's going to happen. Thanks everyone.

I have the 5164A and couldn't be happier. It's practical, joy to look at and could go with most outfits. 5712A however, has a busy dial and it's down on the list on my Nautlius list. 5726A would be a harder competition.

2 different animals
Had a hard time choosing between the two so I got both.
How can I resist the blue dial of 5712?!?? So beautiful. How can I resist the practicality of the dual time function??! |
