Someone has to know more about this 5074...

Is this a 5074J or 5074R? Is it a piece unique or is it something that was done for a special event I missed...it's amazing. The breguet numerals really make this piece something special. Any facts would be very helpful. Perhaps Khalid will know.

Definitely rose gold, the yellow gold model is much more yellow than that.

Here's where the picture was taken, it was during Hodinkee's visit to the Patek Philippe factory. Little is written about that model but it doesn't seem like it has anything more special than other 5074's except for the Breguet numerals.

As I believe the 5074r is a newer model (when compared to the 5074P), I would guess that this very dial was a prototype or, perhaps, a soon-to-be-released even newer model.

The only thing I can confirm for now is that although the 5074 is not my all-time favorite reference those numerals really give it a good look.

Those were my thoughts exactly. I emailed, messaged and pretty much contacted Ben in everyway possible. I'm really hoping this is released in 2014. I love the breguet numerals on the 5074. It is what finally makes it a gold replacement to the 3974 I've loved for years.

If you ask me I much prefer the 3974 to the 5074, Breguet numerals or not.

EDIT: Just came across that picture on Internet...I think I found where they got their inspiration for that 5074 with those numerals...

Doesn't that just look amazing?

That 3974R is fantastic!!! Sold for $319,320 back in 2003. I wonder where it is today. Simply stunning. I've always been more attracted to the 3974 over the 5074, any day of the week until I saw that picture on Hodinkee a little while back. To be honest I forgot about the piece until I recently saw a 5074R in the metal and wore it and was curious about the breguet numeral one I saw. Now I know what my unicorn is. Though I think the 5131J World-Timer With View Of City Of Geneva will be my unicorn of unicorns..grail of grails forever because that thing is just stunning.

Also have you seen the 5450P? Love the salmon dial.

A lovely salmon dial indeed and the advanced research pieces are quite special but I think I would still prefer a regular 5146 to it. Besides, when it comes to salmon dials I have other watches in mind...

I do think the size of the 5074 is better, 3974 just a little small IMHO. Presumably the former is a bit louder as it has a larger case in which to resonate?
