116655 vs 116515 LN
Hi All,
After a recent thread trying to choose between a Royal Oak Offshore and a Rose Gold Yachtmaster on Oysterflex I am veering toward the Rolex option. This is a second watch to wear in rotation with a GMT Master. There are a few reasons for swaying toward Rolex, one of the main ones being that I feel Rose Gold (Rolex) will feel much more special than a stainless bezel option (AP). I think I am going to go down this route, then add an AP (ideally RG) as my third watch once I hit some goals work wise, it is good to have something to work toward! Anyhow, now I am zeroing in on it, the usual "what else could my money get me" debate comes up and I am looking at the chocolate dial Daytona, ideally on an Oysterflex but perhaps on the leather strap. Here in the UK the Yachtmaster can be acquired pre owned for circa £15 000 - around 19% less than retail price The Daytona would be circa £17 000 - again around 19% less than retail price What would you choose and why? |

tough call. what else do you own?
I ask because I recently purchased a 116655, and while I absolutely love it, I probably would have gone with the 116515 if I didn't already own a SS Daytona. I like the idea of the 116515, not only cause it's a kick ass daytona, but because it lends itself really well to both leather and rubber! That's most likely my vote, but I'd like to know what else you have first. |

I currently own just a 116710 LN at present. I tend to wear either a suit or very smart business casual during the week (i.e. trousers, shirt & tie, wool jumper), jeans and a t shirt on the weekend. Ideally I'd love something that suits both settings really - I kind of feel the oyster flex is casual enough to wear with anything (even by the pool) but the rose gold is luxurious enough to wear with anything too. |

I’d go for the YM. I love that watch but I can’t justify the $ for a watch I won’t wear often. If I wore a gold watch every day it would be beat to hell. I seem to be hard on things.......

Kind of - have tried on a 116655, and have tried on the 116515 but on leather not on Oysterflex.
Both are lovely! I really like the matte black of the Yachtmaster and how it contrasts the RG I also really like the chocolate dial of the Daytona, which is superb |

If you're going the oyster flex route, I would suggest the Daytona, as it features the easy link clasp. The YM, alas, does not.
