Hey guys,

Recently my friend told me his friend is selling a Rolex submariner 16610. The price he is selling for is about $6.2k USD. However, only watch and box are provided and no Certs. I just want to check with you guys if the watch is genuine before I actually consider buying the watch. I will really appreciate if you guys can give me some insights. Thank you! The photos are in the attached.

I'm sure some will be able to tell from this one photo but my suggestion is if you are serious about buying get some better and more detailed photos of the entire watch.

Fake to me. Cg and bezel numbers are square instead of round. Also why don't the hands match the face and cyclops looks off.

Too many red flags.

Just take to an AD .. problem solved. If he wants to sell, what is the harm in confirming. You dont owe him your trust, just the price you bargain.

As mentioned above.

The insert pip, hands and dial all look wrong, and the c/g's and cyclops look wrong too

Take the back off the watch is the best way to confirm either way

I wouldn't buy it personally

I dont ever recall seeing hour marker patina on a superluminova dial (swiss made). Too many red flags.

Why would you EVER consider spending $6k on something (or anything for that matter) that you have no idea what it is you are actually buying???

Run away, run away very fast. Caveat emptor, if you decide to stick around, I feel enough on here have told you it's fake, believe them,they know their way around a Rolex. If you are considering spending a decent lot of money on a Rolex, check out trusted sellers here, or go to an AD, would be my advice, don't get stung by scumbag fraudsters.

And, Xgdx7m . . . . make sure that when you DO take it to an AD (authorized dealer) and have them remove the back to look . . . PLEASE get back to everyone about what you find.
It would be validating to all to see their suspicions confirmed.
It would be illuminating to all see that this was some odd variant that they didn't expect.
