Solid YG or RG definitely has a more flashy presence on the wrist.

Bling factor least to greatest

SS -> SS w/PCL -> WG -> PL -> TT -> RG -> YG... And then there are the diamonds...

Because it does, thanks to the contrast it offers between steel, yg and royal blue . The full yg worked better on the 5 digit than the actual model. Back to the topic of the thread, yg stands out on a tt, but next to a yg is overpowered in terms of bling.

As an ex full yellow gold owner and also owned two tone watches I must say the former definitely crushes the latter when it comes to being flashy

Personally TT all day long for me , flashy or not . And If Solid Gold is your thing then more power to you .Its more how you wear the watch that counts

Rubbish. Nothing extreme or provocative. Just my opinion. Yours differs, get over it.

I take it you have a YG Rolex?

Hard to say...they say a picture's worth a 1000 words, so here's a shot of both.

You be the judge.

Some could regard their beautiful TT or YG watch being called "flashy" in the same way... unnecessary and offensive.

From: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/flashy

If "vulgar" is offensive to some, so must "flashy" be by association.
In which case mods should consider closing the thread for breaching "rules" as the OP and others have used "extreme, provocative statements and that isn't how this forum works."

language is a funny thing. Context matters as much as the word choice. If someone said i offended them or their choice in watches, i would apologize and try to do better, it works.

If its your opinion, thats fine in my book, but perhaps it would help to make it clear (as per my edit above)

Just sayin

I find my solid far less blingy than the two tone. And i've been down the two tone road multiple times.

If I cared about your opinion, I would say you've offended me...but I don't.

I will say, however, the overwhelming majority of posts in response to your statement of YG is "vulgar" has not been favorable to your choice of words.

Perhaps you would be better off by apologizing and trying to be more positive in the future.

I personally think its hilarious because it's so over the top.

You are using the word to mean that it is ostentatious, pretentious, ignorant, unrefined, lacking in taste, attention seeking. You can argue that if you like; it's what the word means.

I know you were talking about your perception of the watch, but "vulgar" as it is defined would apply more to the person who wears it rather than to the object.

More gold = More flashy. TT being more flashy than a full YG golden idol of a timepiece is ridiculous to me, and I expect ADs only say this to shift TT models. I love gold, TT, SS, RG, WG it's all pretty damn tasty to me. btw.
