Royal Oak as daily and only watch?
What are you opinions on the Royal Oak for an everyday/only watch? I've heard the bezel is prone to scratches. Do any of you wear your RO everyday or is this a special occasion type watch? I'm thinking about swapping out my sub for a 15450 within the next month or so.

I think can work if you can live with your multiple scratch or dents whi will appear on the bracelet and the bezel!
Like you know AP it's a piece with many ungle who are exposed when you use daily to different scrath or dents! In my opinion Rolex is better for this! |

Depends on your vocation. If you are basically in the office, I don't see why it can't be kept in resonably good condition for a few years. Its a watch you wear with pride, it fills your senses and you are constantly conscious of it.....I would think one would need an "in-between" watch when you just want to take it easy, chill and turn off your "watch radar" for a time. Hope it makes sense....

Wore it as a daily for a year and then in a small rotation for another year - it can be the only daily driver. The bracelet will scratch up of course, but the finish and all the shininess hide the scratches well. But, you want to be a little careful with the bezel, guarding it from banging on doors, handles and other hard objects. Dings an scratches on the top side of the bezel as well as hard straight lines of the case will stand out, at least to you. Most of the scratches on my 14500 are from the first month of use while I still was getting used to the watch having come from a Titanium Overseas which could take a lot more beating and not show any scars.

I've been wearing my 15400 everyday for 18 months now. After the 3rd or 4th scratch on the bracelet, I stopped caring about them. Dents/scratches on the bezel still hurt slightly, but it happens. It's such a gorgeous watch, it's worth having it on as much as possible.
I take mine off when doing activities where I can't be conscious of where my wrist may be and/or hit: moving furniture, repairs around the house, strenuous yard work. Otherwise, it's been on my wrist in the pool, ocean (no diving), and shower with no issues. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

RO gets about 30-40% of my wrist time and as long as you exercise what Mike would call "wrist awareness", you will be fine.

Absolutely but as said above exercise wrist awareness. With that said I do the same with all of my watches.

I'd rather wear the Genta metal bezels selectively to preserve the delicate finish, I'd always have a ceramic Rolex/AP/Omega for my anytime watch.
