Incoming: Royal Oak vs Daytona
Hi guys
Some of you will remember that I put a collection strategy together a couple of years ago, and it's nearly complete. Today, another piece of the jigsaw arrived in the shape of the Royal Oak 15450. When choosing which Royal Oak to get, I spent a vast amount of time looking at size comparisons, and I'm glad to report I made the right choice! My wrists are 6.5" so not very big, so I was torn between 37mm and 39mm but the 37mm is perfect for me. As I really like the way the Daytona wears, I spent a lot of time looking for comparisons on the wrist between the Daytona and the 15450. So, I thought others may be in the same boat and it would be useful to share a couple of photos. The bottom line is that they both wear differently, but both work for me brilliantly, and people should forget the stigma attached to the 37mm!

Thats one of the best Royal Oak picture I have seen, they never really did it for me but yours is clean and sharp. Great find and enjoy!

I recently had the same dilemma, but in the end i bought the blue 15400 and I have to say that i am confident that i made the right decision. Both of these 2 watches are amazing but also different with iconic status so you cant go wrong.
What i decided to do was to accept that both of them had a place in the 5 watch collection i want to build, therefore i bought the RO now and I start saving for the Daytona after couple of months. Go with the Royal Oak and dont look back, when time comes you go for the Daytona!!

They are both outstanding watches and I'm contemplating between these very pieces. Thanks for this, even though I've been able to try on both (well, almost.. Daytona was 116520).

My wife has the white Daytona C and I have a blue 15300. Both nice but the AP has a clear edge for me, has a better quality feel than the Rolex IMO

Both incredible time pieces. I own the same 15450st but a white dialed stainless steel Daytona (non CE model). Very different watches but same thrill when you put them on the wrist.

Its amazes me how big the AP RO sits on the wrist. The lugs and bracelet really do make a difference

Both look great, but I guess the bezel size of the RO makes it look somewhat smaller than the Daytona. That's being compensated by the lugs though. |

Whilst the 15450 fits ever so slightly better, I do like the micro adjustment on the clasp of the Daytona which I use a lot.

My wrist is 6.75. I wouldn't go lower at all below 39mm. Below that is women watch sizes honestly IMO. If you are a 6.5, I probably would have went with the 39mm if you really thought the 41mm was too big. If you can pull off a 40mm rolex, you can pull off a 41mm or 39mm RO.
Also I think the 37mm won't have great resale given majority of men won't buy them. The watches themselves look great though no matter the size. AP finishing is king. |

Can tell you that my wife's Daytona c looks smaller than my 5711, so I would think a 39mm RO would also look bigger, but a 37mm RO will look smaller but not greatly

Thanks for your response. I did not realize the new Daytonas had the micro adjustment bracelets. It should really be standard for all Rolexes.
