Neovintage Patek - Finishing?

Everyone knows that current Patek does not do things like remove evidence of machining from anglage, etc.

When they did they transition away from stuff like that?

They still do that by a step called deburring by human with the help of a tool, filing imperfections and machine marks on the bevels. They do that on their base movements like 330 and 240 also. You can accuse them of shallow anglage (so does Lange) on their movement but they are not 100% machined where finishing is concerned. That said, it is not a time consuming process due to the shallow anglage on their base movements.

There are some pics online with milling marks but that is a QC issue.

Obviously at the higher end, there are sharp inward angles (human finishing) on the anglage. These are carvings by their inhouse artisans. No CNC can do sharp interior angles in between curved bevels yet.

Yeah, I guess my Q is moreso around when (if ever) they transitioned into the current finishing style on the bulk of their production.
