Charles Town WV

My wife and I are sneaking away this weekend to a Luxury B&B in WV, can anyone offer suggestions or what not to miss, while visiting?

I haven't been there in 20 years but the picturesque little town of Harpers Ferry has an interesting civil war history, a quaint little downtown with some nice hikes overlooking the town. Worth a day trip if you are into that sort of thing.

Why should we bother.

You'll probably never leave your room. Ya pair of bunnies.

It was the railroad bridge crossing, being the only one crossing the Potomac River, in the 1800’s, that made this small area so important! Interesting, a munitions artillery strategic location.

Here’s one just for you train time! Look closely you’ll see two trains. One stone filled train awaits, allowing the other access through the single rail tunnel!

Had to come up for some air!

We walk on average, 8-10 miles a day. Charles Town was a very small old school town. Harpers Ferry however had some nice hills and a climb to Jefferson Rock!
Hiked a bit on the Appalachian trail as well.

I am the romantic you know!
