I really don't like the red. It's looks like a kids watch.

Could be. For me a fun warm weather watch. Patek made a small number of them to feature at an exhibition in Singapore 2019.

Amazing piece.
Love the Singapore edition.
Was it hard to come by in Dubai?

I’ve been on the hunt for two years but recently helped get some women teachers out of Afghanistan one of whom is related to the fellow who had it.

The first Aquanaut I had a decade or so ago was torn off my wrist sailing (not a skill area) and now lies in deep water in Lake Malawi. So I have probably overreacted.

What a fun watch, the way the Aquanaut is meant to look. True Hi/Lo fashion.

What an honorable deed…this is a great reward! Wonder how did the watch end up in Afghanistan? Or was it just someone related but doesn’t live in Afghanistan .. the owner of the watch that is. I thought this was released only for the SE Asian market…specifically Singapore.

Thanks for the note. I’ve done lots of volunteer work in Afghanistan, primarily building girls schools. When it became obvious that women and perhaps especially teachers were threatened by the Taliban takeover, I went in country and was able to get 13 teachers out, both to the US and into Germany. I often go to Dubai and on a visit there several weeks ago it turned out that one of the owners of a large retail store and watch distributor there was related to one of the women teachers and had heard the story. Very generously, he gave me the watch. I don’t know its history but he may have been in Singapore for the 2019 event or purchased it separately.
All the best, Frank
