Snowflake loves and not so much

I'm totally on the fence with this watch!

LOVE:

the dial, indices (finishing!), the hands and movement, the weight are all perfect.

Do not love:

The COLOR of the titanium
That I'm worried about scratching it and only zaratsu experts in Japan being able to fix it
can't get the perfect sizing
movement or something makes a noise when i move my wrist

What do you guys think?

I dont know, but I interpret being on the fence about a watch as a hard no. Too many other great watches out there and you should not have to convince yourself to like a given watch.

I have no such concerns with mine. I wear if often and the titanium color or wonky winding feel just don’t matter when I stare at the dial and smooth seconds hand. It’s one I doubt i would ever part with.

It's too much equity to have to settle for an unfavorable wearing experience. The bracelet and clasp are deal-breakers on this watch. Just a hair too thick for its design philosophy. This is not a sport watch in my opinion, too elegant and classy for that. Yet thicker than some divers. Why? Plus that pin/collar bracelet system is insulting. For 5k+, you really deserve an absolutely outstanding bracelet & clasp to match.

I just don't know what GS is thinking. Whatever direction they go in, they need to start thinking about the whole package & wearing experience.

I don’t disagree with your points about bracelet adjustability but the Seiko bracelet is nicely finished titanium. They chose titanium to make the watch lighter and consequently comfortable. Additionally it’s high intensity titanium (whatever that might be) that is harder than stainless steel. Clearly a lot of thought and craftsmanship goes into the watch. It’s popularity has arisen due to its overall quality.

The Snowlake is gorgeous, but if you're not completely feeling it, then don't.
I have grade 5 Ti watches and haven't scratched them badly- doesn't mean I won't though. That said, I've worn my steel SBGE201 all over the place, beaches, hiking, dive bars, so it's picked up swirls and a ding here and there, so it's not just a titanium thing. Same with my Explorer 2
No doubt Seiko will release more watches, with gorgeous dials and finishing down the road. Maybe one of those will speak to you more.

Thanks guys. I think the sound of the movement bothers me more than anything else. Move my wrist and hear it. Makes it sound cheap. Trust me I know it’s not!! Beautiful to look at but once I put it on it is less enjoyable.

Titanium color is fine. The scratching is enevitable. You’ll scratch the watch taking it out of box for the first time lol.

Movement should be on your “love” list or move on. It is best part of the watch IMO. followed very closely by the dial which is elegant and is alway special when looking down at wrist in nearly all lighting.

I sold it as the bracelet is trash and proportions were too big for a classic watch. Also agreed, scratching has some consequences on any GS as you will never get that new finish back. Still wore it quite a bit but moved on.

The rest of it is simply perfect !

Can’t go wrong but still waiting for a perfect GS. Still haven’t made the right one for me.

I don’t love other things

Do we have to love every aspect of a watch to keep it?

Not sure I’d agree with that

In this particular instance though I think there’s enough for me to move on as advised

Personally I have to love everything-
I've previously bought watches that the internets told me were "hot", or "no collection is complete without...." and thought "meh" after 10 mins ownership. Never again.
There's enough variety out there that my "100% love " list extends well beyond my wallets capacity, so why settle ?

Yeah I hear ya. That was my experience with the speedmaster. What I mean here isn’t so much about what people tell you is hot. For my I truly do love the snowflake dial. It’s one of my fave dials on any watch. Question is can I love the dial (one aspect of a watch) so much that I can forgive other things that bother me. I think it’s possible but I guess it depends how many other things there are.
