There is a Rhodium dial just called “vertical lines,” and similar dials in the 80s-90s were called “Tapestry.” Is there a difference between sundust stripe motif and vertical lines?

Excellent choice, RG and this dial are my favorite as well!

I used to own a 18238 with a silver tapestry dial. Beautiful watch but hard to tell the time due to not enough contrast for me. I like the vertical line theme though.

I want a WG DD at some point. Likely a 18239/118239 but no idea which dial yet. This thread is not helping narrow down!

Definitely go with the 6 digit reference. Clasp is better designed and you get more gold with with the solid links.

Well, I prefer the clasp on my 18239, only need a toothpick to adjust sizing on the go!

Well I just got back from driving (2800 miles in 4 days) from S Central Wi to Orlando Fl and back to see David. Had to go back home in Fl to get the boxes and paperwork from 2 Rolexs I was trading in. Finally joining the DD brotherhood again. Rolex really outdid themselves with this model.

Thank you! I never thought I’d wear a gold DD until I was 60...my wife picked up on the sentiment and bought it for my 50th. Engraved on the back:

Time is Short
Love Never Ends

Her point was, none of us knows the number of our days. Rather than putting things off like this, might as well enjoy them now while we can. And, love endures to the end of time.

I am truly blessed, I know.

You don’t even know how right she is. :-)
Btw 50 is the actual jubilee year (7x7+1) when “mercies of God would be particularly manifest.” Leviticus 25:8–13. And god being love, so...

Greetings everyone-I did not feel the need to start my own thread but I might be the owner of a 118238 soon.

I am looking to trade a stainless 2018 DJ 41 and a 2016 DJ 36(two tone) for a Presidente!

Wish me luck-life is short so no time like the present to get the watch I really want.

Scott

Love everyone's Day Date's!

Thanks! Yes, I think she mentioned that to me when she gave me the watch. But I had forgotten about it up until now. Appreciate the reminder. Thank you! My 50th year was truly blessed beyond any watch.
