Watch: What's on my wrist

For me size and function are its only faults. The size is way to large for my 6.5 inch wrist. Now if I were in a situation where I was still able to race sailboats the size could be over looked as I'd wear it just for the function. But "No" one of these would have no spot on my wrist given what is.

If you like it, buy it. Why let others influence what you like?
On a side note, a young nephew of mine who knows I'm into watches. Especially Rolex, bought me a 50mm Armitron chronograph quartz watch for Christmas. None of my watches even come close to 50mm. Not wanting to disappoint him since it's the thought not the gift that counts. I've been wearing it the last several days. Long story short. The 50mm size is somewhat growing on me. It's really not that bad. |

Why is Yacht Master II so underrated?
Quote:
OP, you’re also a 007..???!?! We need to speak to MI6... I own the YMII for a few reasons. #1 most rolexes look small on my wrist. I like the size of the YMII. It’s perfect. #2 I like the design. A lot of people trash it but I find it elegant. If you have a small wrist, the watch looks ridiculous. But if you’re my size (6’3” and 225lbs thick wrists) then it will look elegant and understated. #3 the word YMII on the bezel insert is not bigger than the numbers on a GMTII. It bothers people...it doesn’t bother me. #4 when you lay it on a table next to your other professional rolexes, it doesn’t look like a toy. To me it stands out in a good way! Hey, I like the watch! To each his own...! |

it's a beautiful and stunning watch IMO. Although very innovative, The function is almost totally worthless to me. The ring command system is awesome but the price tag on this watch is crazy. Especially when you consider what you get for the less expensive Sky-D in SS.
It's not underrated at all IMO. Based on everything I said, I think it's popularity level is logical and right where it should be. |

I happen to like the YM-II. It's one of my grail watches. I also like the SkyDweller. If you like it, get it. It doesn't matter whether others like it or not.

Can anyone explain the regatta function in detail? What would i me timing and how?
Other than that, if you like it be happy that others dont. Would you rather the choice of having to pay double retail or waiting 3 years instead?

I don't own a yacht or race sailboats. Name on the bezel is a detracting feature otherwise I think it's a pretty neat complication.

I like it! I ran into a friend at Lv last week he had the yellow gold and that watch jumped out from across the room! I happen to like big watches myself and wear my polar daily. I will not wear anything smaller than a 40mm myself. If you like the attention then grab the gold one. I will say my wife and my buddies not a fan. It is defiantly an acquired taste but I like the taste ! The strangest thing is I have had more compliments on my polar than any other watch in a short period of time. I’m not sure if it’s the size or the white dial who knows ? I may consider a yacht 2 in the future. Go with what you like! Your opinion matters most

This guy said it better than I did. I’m 6’3” 225 solid built guy. I do not have a big wrist. Small watches just look funny on me

a lot of people on the internet say it is ugly, people wouldn't say this to your face if you had it on your wrist (they might say it's not for them or it's too big but would never tell you it's disgusting or unbelievable ugly etc)
the same way I'm not a fan of the Bugatti Veyron I wouldn't tell someone that is driving it that the car is ugly. if he wanted to give 2 million plus dollars on it and he likes it it's none of my business to talk bad about his purchase. but that's just me I think if you have a big wrist and the money to spend the YMII is a fantastic watch, I currently own one but in gold. check out this video review I made of it if you have a few minutes it just might help you purchase it https://youtu.be/TBF9ZlIntk8 Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk |

Personally I don't like it.....but I wish I did.
I like it when I don't follow the herd. Zigging when everyone else is Zagging is when I feel most happy. Unfortunately, owning a mainstream BLNR and DJll....and no love for the YMll, I'm with the majority here. Enjoy your left field position here OP and get the watch you want. Stuff everyone else. |

Please think twice about the countless comments the complication is useless. It’s not !
Most things people would like to time are less then 10 minutes. Reading the yachtmaster countdown timer is EASY compared to the Daytona. Latter one designed for timing but the dial is roughly 50 times harder to read then the one of YM2 ! |
