Do you think this is a good move?

Im in a dilema! currently I have a 39mm Rolex explorer and a Tudor Pelagos LHD, a seiko skx007 pepsi and a seiko ninja turtle.

I was considering selling the explorer and the LHD and buying a Deep Sea Dweller 116660 black dial. It pretty much a direct swap.

Size wise I am happy with the deep sea. Just worry I am limiting my options with just a big diver. but it is a cool watch.

what do you guys think?

It’s a fantastic watch! If you’re comfortable with the size... I’d do that trade in a second! Love the DSSD

Don't sell the Explorer! You will regret it, don't do it. And it never makes sense to trade like that. The dealer makes out awesome, not you. The dealer will love to do that. You will be selling at wholesale prices and buying at preowned retail price. You will always regret selling, and financially you lose too.

If you are not happy with the bracelet I can highly recommend this Rubber B strap. It is available w/o the blue stripe which would be the logical choice for the black dial. I would certainly do that trade.

Worth noting that whilst still being a sports watch your Explorer I is by far the 'dressiest' out of those watches. Might be absolutely fine depending on what you do for a job or how you tend to dress but might be worth considering. Judging from your current collection you clearly seem to like dive watches and no doubt the DSSD is a great watch!

so tough. I know i will miss the explorer but I used to have a sea dweller and miss the black rolex diver. Never wanted a sub, just seemed to much of the default choice. I also love the LHD, but it is the least loved of the collection. The SD43 is just not a sea dweller with the magnifier cant get past it. The other watch thats frequently on my mind is the explorer 2, but the date magnifier again I just don't like.

so difficult!!!

If you find the 39mm Explorer a little on the small side, go for it.

Black face 116660s are probably the best deal out there for SS Sports on the resale market, if you've got the wrist for it. I've seen them sub 9k in the FS section and well known greys. NICE ones 9-10k.

PS Keep the Pelagos, I think you'll miss it. DSSD and Pelagos make a great pair.

That LHD with lumed bezel markers and red PELAGOS & red datewheel (is it roulette?) is a winner itself. The Explorer is iconic. I just like those two better.
