DJ 1601 Authentic? Head only

Seller is reputable from TRF and I purchased from before and everything was good but jsut for peace of mind.

I know the face had diamonds added to the original face thus not making it original but checking to see if watch is genuine. Thanks!

For me dial looks redone and the hands looks too fat, but this is only my opinion, I can be wrong.

Well dial is DEFINITELY not Rolex original
Date wheel font looks bad

Dials redone and hands are aftermarket as stated above. Date fonts fine, open 6 & 9s and flat top 3. Watch is genuine albeit battered.

as stated above dial isn't real. This should provide you a better idea on what the font on the dial should look like. She's also had a trip or 12 around a buffing wheel. From what I can see, it looks like a redial/ aftermarket dial, and they took a set of hands out of a 16013 like mine and installed them. While its all correctable I'd ask if you were getting it for a price which would reflect the things you'd need to do to fix it and or if they are stating that its a a genuine piece. Unless you've got your heart set on a 1601, I'd find another watch.

Its late and my eyes are tired, but I'm also not seeing the swirl circular machining markings inside the case, unless the light is hiding it.

It looks like a child did the lettering on the dial.

But movement is genuine, so just an aftermarket/reworked dial.

A 16013 uses a Cal.3035, the 1601 has a 1570. The hand sizes are different for both movements and not interchangeable. The hands are aftermarket on this.
