Used Explorer 11 on Watchfinder. POA!

Just spotted a black dial Explorer 11 with POA, so being inquisitive I called them to find out more as you don’t see that many Exy 11’s with POA !

It turns out it’s one of something like 50 that were issued to the SAS and has some type of engraving on it confirming just that.

Offers around £30,000 I understand.

Was it the SAS or the SRS? I’ve seen a couple from the SRS popping up recently (and going for much more than 30K).

SRS is the Special Reconnaissance Service. Rolex did a limited run of explorer IIs for them too.

What's POA? I'm married and not allowed to think of those things.

That makes absolutely no sense. In this context I’m pretty certain it means “proof of authenticity.” A younger me would have thought piece of amazing womanhood.

And I need a life, because for me it was Power of Attorney.

If you just go to Watchfinder website you'll see that exact watch listed with price hidden and it saying POA. Apparently that's what Brits say. And I feel you. A young me (which is current me since I'm about to turn 22 in a couple days) would immediately think "piece of a**", but I double checked as it's not applicable to watches.

Lol...although there is a quote engraved on the flank opposite the crown, "Who Dares Wins". Also case back has a large engraving along with words, Special Air Service along the periphery.

Yes,,
Just saw the “ who dares win” engraving. ,
Surely that would make it an SAS piece ?
