Your not exactly a small guy - I would go 39mm.

Both look good on you. The maxi lugs make the watch wear a bit bigger than the modest dimensions suggest.

Here’s my 36 369...

I tried on the same models today. The 34mm seems to have a better taper from the case to the bracelet, 36 seems a little chunky.

Your watch is simply awesome!

Yes, that's the thing with the OP case, it wears large, especially to my old-fashioned eye!

Thanks!

Hi Pete26

Thanks! Your black 36 looks super cool!

Logically, because white tends to wear a bit large, I should be considering a black dial, if I think the 36 may be a little too big for me. I can't quite explain my attraction to the white dial. Maybe it's a little less dressy? I don't know.

Thanks for your advice!

Thanks! You're a bit in the minority preferring the 34, but I appreciate your opinion and am reassured that you say both options would fit me.

Is your avatar a Fairfield Porter painting? Is it a portrait of Frank O'Hara or John Ashbery or someone?

Great eye! It's Porter's portrait of John Ashbery!

That's great advice! I felt like I was taking up the AD's time, trying one on, then another, then switching again. I'm not sure I can gauge which one feels better on my wrist very quickly, there in the store. Which makes me nervous about making the decision and then having to live with it!

36- for me it’s all about the double batons and numerals on the outer track. The size difference is so negligible it’s nearly meaningless imo.

Good point! Funny though how some people detest the double batons. I like them, plus the numerals. The dots on the 34 and 39, I'm not crazy about, though in the metal they're not very obtrusive. Still, the watch is so handsome overall that I could be happy with either dial design!

Yes I see that dislike expressed often. To each their own!

For me the double batons and and especially the numerals make it more “serious” and instrument like. It could be one’s only watch, easily.
The dots make for a more playful look. Better as part of a collection, as an alternate to a daily piece.

All just one man’s opinion of course.

Both look awesome. I’ll say 36 cause the double batons are cool and unique to that size.

Yes, you articulated that very well! I think the dots do have a playful look, especially when you think of the other OP color ways, where the dots are a fun, complementary color to the dial. But again, both dials look great!

36mm if you want no date.

34 OP date if you want the date. Best value for money model if size it’s good for you.

That's good advice! I actually look at my wrist frequently to see the date! I just don't know how I feel about the cyclops, even though it is *the* classic Rolex feature. Thanks!

My wife has the 34 OP and I think it looks good on her. She has very skinny wrists.

You are much bigger than her and I think the larger one looks better on you. If it was my money, I would go for a 39. But it's not, so your call.

I vote 34 -

I like seeing more bracelet on either side. The 36 takes up more wrist space - I would think it's a 39

Go 34
