In a Vienna this weekend ... best AD?
Any thoughts on where I might have the most luck?
Doesn’t look like there is a watches of Switzerland, which is where I have traditionally shopped. |

The best AD is the Omega AD, you'll definitely get whatever watch you're after. In all seriousness, i have travelled to 15 major cities across the globe within a year and all Rolex AD's didn't surprise me. Good on Rolex though.

A couple of nice AD although the situation is spot on the same as anywhere in the world. Wagner for example is one of the bigger ADs with nearly every watch on display for you to try on which is kind of nice if you have never actually seen your dream watch.
If you are more into Vintage watches I can recommend a private watch shop, called Chronothek. Beautiful older and some new watches on display. Enjoy Vienna!! |

I bought my Batman from Wagner in 2015. Paid retail including VAT and got that back so pretty fair deal. Great dealer, but I have to say they didn’t take me seriously at first.
The Omega boutique there is really sweet. One of the nicer ones I’ve seen. A couple other various boutiques around Stephensplatz that carry all manner of watches, and a couple of smaller shops that have secondhand pieces on sale. There’s also a clock and watch museum in Vienna which is pretty rad. Also Cafe Daniel Moser is my fave breakfast/coffee spot in central Vienna, great coffee and decent pricing. And do please have all the schnitzel. :D |

Vienna is wristwatch paradise but I don't think you'll find any sports Rolex. I had two great buying experiences there. Hübner and Time Fair (Vintage Watch Shop) but this one is not there anymore. You'll find many ADs around St. Stephen's Cathedral. Enjoy your trip.

You can get empty trays at Ebay, then you not have to hassle with the customs.

Little off topic but if you are in Vienna go to the Schnitzelwirt they have the best Wiener Schnitzel in town.

If we're now on off topic mode, you can't miss Kunsthistorisches Museum, OP. Have fun.

The good thing about Rolex and Vienna is that all the AD's are within a 10 min walk of each other... Bucherer, Wagner (both of them), and Schullin, which is imo the best. Bucherer and Wager are the two big and most popular ones, but never seem to have anything good. Schullin on the other hand always seems to have something nice, a few decent SS models always included. Bucherer and Wagner didn't even have any of the PM Daytona's I was looking at, while Schullin had several and let me try them all on. They're also willing to negotiate a bit, at least on the PM stuff. Highly recommended. Wagner will just brush you off within seconds. Bucherer a bit better, but still nothing to be achieved there. But definitely hit them all up, you might get lucky! I would channel my efforts into obtaining a nice Lange or Patek.

I found the main bucherer helpful. They let me try in as white and black face Daytona not long after Basel release - was June of that release year
So maybe they have the new blnr from this year now to try Downside was I couldn't get on the waiting list for the daytonas as either full or they didn't do for non locals can't remember possibly both |

Bucherer for watches and Figlmueller for schnitzel (call to reserve the table 1 day in advance). Schnitzel bigger than plate...2 locations near Stephan's Dome.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone ... to be expected, no SS models.
The best part was checking out Chronotek. They had a preowned root beer and blusey which were great to see in person! Figlmueller was booked for two days out :( |

Sorry to hear that. Try again next time you are in Vienna, it will be worth it.
