The wonder among the wonders

There are wonders in the world, but for me the Pyramids of Giza are very special, and so is the Sphinx.

I had an ideal companion. An Explorer II

Yes, the pyramids and sphinx are special, pity the surrounding area is such a dump with beggars, pickpockets and lowlives trying to fleece you.

Nice pictures.

Depends on how you get to the place. I went in and out quite safely. I had no fear in Egypt

I've been to Egypt on several occasions, I never said it was dangerous, I've never felt unsafe there either.

I said the area surrounding the pyramids was a dump with beggars.

Check out the reviews of Pyramids of Giza on TripAdvisor, I'm not the only one with those feelings.

Lovely.. we were there in 2004, didn't feel safe. Security at the hotel were checking cars for bombs (with a mirror on a pole). The day we came home the hotel next door and it's carpark and two parts of the old town were bombed, this was in Sharm el Sheik. If we had stayed a day longer we would be involved. We won't go back..
Had felt intimidated all week, we were followed about, pestered and begged from. I have a pretty wife which perhaps was the cause of half of it. A shame as we really would like to to see Giza sometime. Oh, and I very nearly drowned in the Red Sea while out doing scuba and snorkelling, a terrifying experience caused by a lack of duty of care from the tour operators.

Nice photos. I spent a month there in 1993, stayed at Movenpick Hotel near the pyramids. Very interesting stay, crazy taxi drivers, but had a good time. The Cairo museum was really interesting. Did a camel and horse trek to the pyramids. I rode a horse, sat on the camel, but was leery that thing would bit me. :)

It is a place that must be visited at least once in life, or more times because when you visit sure you think that at some point in your life want to return

Great photos and great watch. Don,t go inside the great pyramid with it on or it will de-magnatise the hell out of it, remember the pyramid aint no stone structure built for show.
Enjoy your holiday.

Always fancied going there but the 'side issues' put me off.......just don't want to have to contend with that!

Thanks for sharing, I can tick that of my bucket list now.
The watch looks great, but to put it to it's intended purpose you need to climb to the top of the pyramid.
