oyster versus jubilee bracelet dj 41

opinions? wife likes the oyster bracelet but i think the jubilee bracelet keeps the original rolex style...

when you see the jubilee from afar you immediately recognize it as a rolex no?

I notice an oyster every time. Both are iconic. Both are copied.

I vote Jubilee. I tried both and I think it matches the fluted bezel better so, I bought that combination and really happy with it. Personal preference, of course.

I think it depends on the bezel.

If fluted, I vote jubilee

If smooth, I vote oyster

As far as recognizing from far away, to me the oyster and the jubilee are both recognizable

To me what usually makes a watch look like a Rolex is the shine. The shine or if I see a cyclops.

I have the jubilee, and it is incredibly comfortable and hides any scratches. Hard to beat

Jubilee for sure with the fluted bezel and oyster with the smooth. I picked up a 41 with the Jubilee with fluted on a blue baton face a few months ago and it’s a great looking piece.

Jubilee is SO comfortable on this watch. Incredibly light, flexible and flat on the underside (pic)

But imo you can't go wrong with any combination on the DJ41. Dial / bracelet / bezel.
Every combination I have seen looks good and I would be happy to own.

I chose Jubilee for comfort and the fact that my BLNR is Oyster, to mix it up a bit.

Maybe consider what other models you own / hope to own.

In this model range the fluted bezel matches the jubilee and the smooth bezel matches the oyster bracelet.

I agree with what all others have said about jubilee comfort and fluted = jubilee and smooth = oyster. And if you have (or are going to have) multiple Rolex, buy the jubilee since it's the original DJ bracelet.

I originally wanted fluted and jubilee with a black dial. I eventually went with oyster because I am 36 and felt it was a younger look. I like both bracelets but for t shirt and jeans the oyster is a great look.

On DJ my vote is for Jubilee but for example if we are talking about GMT , it must be Oyster ...

I owned a DJ41 on oyster and flipped it for one on jubilee. Prefer the jubilee.

I’m usually not a fan of the Jubilee, especially on the new Pepsi! But, the DJ is iconic with the jubilee and the one timepiece I would get with it.

IMHO, the Jubilee bracelet is beautiful. At a distance it only tells one that it is a Jubilee bracelet. It does not tell that it is a Rolex until you see the watch itself. I have a vintage one in one of my Rolex boxes. It is a little loose so I replaced it with something else so I could maintain its condition. My son owns the oyster band and in his humble opinion it is prettier. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I guess.

I'm the contrarian here. I went tt fluted, Oyster. It goes with everything and while you see a lot of DJ's on Jubilee, the Oyster is less seen.

The datejust 41 looks amazing with the jubilee and smooth bezel combo. It’s more versatile that way. I LOVE IT!

Both the Oyster and Jubilee bracelets are icons. People tend to prefer Jubilee on a Datejust because it dresses the watch up some. For many, the Datejust is their "dress" watch and prefer the fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. It really all comes down to personal taste though, because a smooth bezel, Oyster bracelet Datejust might be the most versatile watch in existence.

I went with a Jubilee bracelet because it's just not available on many Rolex models. This was before the it was offered on the GMT-Master II. I already had five references on Oyster, for me it was a no-brainer.

Depends, Jubilee is a bit more formal. Oyster more sporty. I went oyster and smooth bezel on my DJ 41. Classic and sleek.
