Vienna, Austria

Dear Forum,

It is a tough time in Vienna, we are trying to stay home and do our jobs over teleworking. However, this gives us some more time than usual to work on our hobbies!

I would like to start a watch club here in Vienna, Austria. A club where we can meet once by-weekly or monthly and hang out; have some drinks; and discuss our watch passion.

Hopefully there will be members interested, and I will work on organising and having a place where we can communicate.

Obviously these meetings would only start once the health situation is under control.

All the best,
Luka

Vienna....My favorite city in Europe. I could be prejudiced, my papa was from Austria.
My last visit to the beautiful city was in ‘08.
Stay safe stay strong.

Thank you Robert! '08 was a long time ago, but as you might know - things do not change in Vienna, or not at a fast pace at least.

We are still full of culture and beautiful as ever if I might say so. Thank you for your kind words.

Luka

Hello fellow watch enthusiasts! I have just moved to Vienna from Dubai and I am super excited to be here. We had a great group of watch collectors in Dubai (still WhatsApp-ing with them) and I would love to join this group.

Vienna is one of my favorite cities. Berggasse 19 is outstanding. I was lucky to have visited multiple times and would love to go back.

Flavio, is that the Sigmund Freud Museum? I have to visit it since I am in Vienna now. There is also a Netflix series about Freud.

Either way, can we try to organize a get together for later August/early September? Let's start with a group, even if it is small, to kick it off. If someone more knowledgable of the city would chime in to help to organize the event in terms of the location, that would be great.

Yes it is. Sorry for the late reply. You can buy great books there and I'm sure you'll find the place really interesting.

Bumping this thread up, anyone interested to meet? We can pick a pub/coffee shop/or restaurant. How would the 7th October (Wednesday - 2 weeks from now) work? Open to suggestions and looking for anyone sharing this passion.

Bumping the efforts to organize an event in Vienna. I know, the restaurants will remain closed through January, however, we can meet in the city and grab a gluhwein or anything that will keep us warm.

Hey, good to hear from you, just checked the TRF. Should we plan for the end of January as the lock down should be lifted soon?

Bringing this post up to your attention and trying to energize all collectors in Vienna to meet. Given the restaurants/bars/coffee shops opening up again, this would be a great opportunity to meet.

Please respond if you are interested.

Hello Viennese watch enthusiasts! We are meeting for the first time this Saturday 22nd May at 11 am in front of Aida Cafe near Stephansdom. We will then go to a local coffee shop from where we walk the streets of city center. Please bring your umbrellas and good spirits as Vienna is starting to open up after the long lock downs.
