Polar rocks!!! Easy to read day or night, has date and GMT... Love mine.

She also looks great on a variety of straps.

I really don't like it. Too cartoonish.
I only have a SD43, some hate it... I love it

My Polar Exp2 was a late addition. Hesitated a bit but eventually landing one on my wrist. No regrets. My current rotation is Exp2 and SubC ND. One for its size, other one for it “thinness” - contrasting feel on the wrist but also the brush steel bracelet makes it wearable without worrying about instant scratches.

216570 Reference is one of my favorite Rolex watches ever. It has become my daily driver since purchase. The durability of the steel bezel makes it ideal for daily wear. I have a polar dial and am actually considering pick up a black dial as well. However, as others have stated, it does wear large. I think it looks too big unless on those with less than a 7 inch wrist.

The Polar in 40mm is best. For 42mm, its black.

I had the 216570 Polar, it was a great watch. It is the Rolex I miss the absolute most, I wish I had kept it 100 times over. Being a Pilot, the 24 hour hand was perfect for zulu time, the jumping hour hand was easy when flying all over the world (which I did a lot), but mostly the absolutely incredible visibility; it is by far the easiest to read Rolex I have ever owned. My SkyDweller is a wonderful watch with a second time zone and jumping hour hand too, but for easy reading in any condition, nothing beats the EX II and I have asked my AD to let me know if they get one in. Of course, after purchasing my SkyDweller I will have to sell a lobe of my liver to also afford the EX II, but I still might do it!

I hope they do make it smaller and with a ceramic bezel ,the appeal of the current 42mm white and black dials will jump in the secondary market !

The last Expl II with the metal bezel, end of an era ..you can imagine .

Well, after trying it on and getting a little discount the Exp II came home with me. My SS collection is complete.

Congrats, mine is only a month old. They’re a cool watch, and so different to the rest of the line up, hence why I fell for it.

You'll most likely be starting a new incoming thread once you see it in person. I stopped to pay a casual visit at my AD two years ago and he showed me 4 pieces that just came in, still in their coffins and all spoken for except one, a Polar, It was the first time I've tried one on and I returned the next morning to collect it. A year after he mentioned he hadn't seen one since. I believe if they recieve them now they won't hit the showcase.

The explorer I and the explorer II (black or white dial) are my favourites.

Congrats OP. One of my favorites but I've always been concerned about the size. Never had the chance to try one on. May I ask what your wrist size is? Cause it looks great on you. And did you say a "little discount"? What world do you live in!

Fluctuates between 7.25 and 7.5 depending on fluid retention. Yes got a little off the price. Rare, I know but I have drpped a lot Colin at the AD this year.

Good idea to see it in person and make the call. I know some folks who have found it way too big, and others for whom it fit brilliantly. A trip to the AD will sort that out for you. It's a great and under appreciated reference.

Interesting. I find it wears small for 42mm, and feels smaller than my 41mm Tudors. It’s also my most comfortable watch and if I had to get down to only one watch it would be my pick, even over my Daytona.

Good choice! I’d like to see a rendition of what this watch would look like with a ceramic bezel.

Congrats! I found the black a bit more of an easier wear (due to my small wrists) but the polar is definitely the winner out of the two visually imo
