If your work attire is smart casual, I'd go with the JLC or a Speedy Pro on OEM croc strap. As much as I love the DJ41, especially in your configuration, it is not an understated piece being fluted and jubilee.

My preference, wearing smart jeans and a shirt, is for DJ41 but Oyster bracelet, Omega AquaTerra and if you want a watch with alligator strap I would suggest IWC Portugieser Automatic 40; blue index / hands with blue alligator more sporty and gold index / hands with black alligator more elegant.

Frankly, decide which watch you like and want to wear. Wear it where ever you want to as it's only a watch. There's no right answer to the question other than the watch that is most desirable for you. Any of the watches you've already got will work fine. Buy what you like and don't bother justifying it with "office work watch!!!"

Which office watch to buy to wear to work?

I’m buying a new watch soon. I’m not asking anyone what watch I should buy. When I make up my mind, I’ll let everyone know what I decided.

Jubilee + Fluted bezel seems too flashy for business casual.
Maybe oyster bracelet or smooth bezel IMO.

I think submariner and GMT are great with denim FWIW

DJ. Although, I’m bias because I wore one when going to the office was ‘a thing’ and this is ‘Rolexforums’. It’s a BEAUT.

First choice for me would be the DJ. 2nd place would be the AT

Well, excuse me, Mr. Krash, that's just NOT how things are done here.

Let me explain the steps leading to purchase of a Rolex, which any beginners here on the forum can use as their guidebook on the journey to purchase a fine Swiss timepiece:

1. We require you to set up up a poll with at least three watch choices. Feel free to tell us how long you saved your money and why this watch is important to you. New jobs or other life changes work well as narrative. Also please tell us about what you will be wearing so we can decide if the watch is right for your outfit. If you use uncommon/contradictory terms like "dress jeans" then please explain. Also, don't refer to the Datejust as a dress watch, or you will receive the ire of some members who will insist a dress watch is on a leather strap, period.

2. You will then need to start another thread to ask if particular activities (like hot tubbing, walking in a downtown area, or traveling to a foreign country) are safe with each of those watches. As an added bonus you can discuss here your accuracy expectations and questions on whether you should send the watch in for warranty service if its more than 2 seconds off per day. Wait for the post on gravity, temperature, altitude, your lifestyle.

3. After you receive our input, then you can decide which watch is right for you, and THEN we will let you know if we approve of your choice.

4. After THAT, we will laugh at you when you ask about getting a discount on your two-tone Datejust. You can then go buy a two-tone Datejust at MSRP.

5. If you are looking for a steel professional model or anything with a blue dial, in a couple months you can post a thread to rant about your inability to find the watch you want. Then you can buy a two-tone Datejust at MSRP. Or, if you can afford it, you will quadruple your watch budget and buy something in solid gold.

Good luck!

I agree that the fluted bezel + jubilee combo is very flashy. Tried one on recently with silver dial at an AD and it was just too much. Maybe jubilee on a smooth domed bezel.

Or just get the AT. I really love mine.

DJ41 is cumbersome for work at a desk. Exactly the reason I traded mine for a 36.

Out of those you’ve chosen, I’d pick something with a strap.

DJ 36 in smooth bezel, not as striking compared to a fluted bezel.
Versatile for office attire or casual

This is spot on. I suggest you go with the Aqua Terra unless you would benefit from portraying the success associated with owning a Rolex (e.g., if you work in sales and think wearing a Rolex would benefit you by making you appear more successful).

Had the JLC - I would only wear for dress, not daily to the office. That is too often to wear with that leather strap. I find the datejust with jubilee much more comfortable. I also wonder why JLC has so many silver dials. I would like to better white. How about the Reverso?

If you were in a suit I think the Cartier and JLC would be better. As you seem to dress slightly less formal this leaves DJ & AT.

Of those I’d choose DJ.

Not to be funny but what are dress jeans? It does make a difference when trying to figure out what watch to wear. Can you post a picture? I would say a steel band DJ41 with a casual look or your HULK would be fine. With jeans I wouldn’t go anything on a crocodile strap.

Always choose the Rolex. As an aside, it will maintain its value way better than any of the other choices hands down.

Any watch you listed would work as well as those in your current collection.

I don’t believe that there is an “appropriate” watch to wear to work unless it is a technical or hazard requirement. It’s more about being comfortable in your own skin.
