HK Rolex AD window

I took this photo showing a steel model in a window. I've not seen such a thing for years. I guess the game is dying in Hong Kong; no tourist shoppers and everybody who lives here already has a rolex

Black Deepsea do often hit the window, but still good to see.

I'd imagine more right place right time. None of those models are crazy popular & Rolex is a bit low end for bit spenders out there too.

Luxury item sales are not dying in HK at least from the articles I have read recently. Democracy perhaps. But not watch sales.
AFAIK the majority (80%) of sales are bought by CN tourists who are still travelling and spending money. They also spend more than non CN tourists.

What are those green plastic bars saying in Chinese in front of the 3 models on the left side? I can tell the Yachtmaster and full gold GMT doesn't have that in front of them .. Could it say it's the showroom piece not for sale?

Sad to see HK crumble. Will never be the same again. Most watches will now go the mainland China.

HK will never be the same and it will get worse as China takes control over it.

I know sooooo many ppl close to my family planning to move forever from HK. They are sending money to family and friends all over the world (i.e) mostly Canada and Australia actually and planning to move there permanently.

I've said this for a long time HK'rs are worried about their future rather than worrying about a Rolex.

Could be a sign of things to come ..

I understand that the US stock market is completely detached from reality for months now but in reality, people are losing jobs and businesses are filing for bankruptcy and closing permanently .. Some will say - forget about it - those folks losing jobs were never the Rolex buyers in the first place, but I don't agree on that.

The gray market is still holding on their prices, though I don't see much liquidity. Also, try selling the BLNR now to the gray vs in the January 2020. You will get at least 30% lower offer for your watch.

It's not, that's a 116618. Picture is referencing the DSSD.

HK ADs are notorious for bundling and selling to greys directly as far as I know. Even with less tourists stopping by due to COVID restrictions, I highly doubt they would sell any hot pieces (GMT/Sub/Daytona/SkyD) at retail price to walk-in customers.

HK people never appreciate helps from China, they kept protect against their government. They are very well deserved the current economic crisis!
