APROO Observation from an Outsider to AP
There’s way too many versions of their Offshore line.

How many versions of the Rolex Datejust are there? 300? 500?

162 currently. That’s just men’s. So there’s certainly more DJs compared to the 46 current ROOS available. But the DJ has also been around much longer. Adding in the ROOS legacy models it hits 141 variants.
Considering AP typically puts out 40k watches a year, and the ROOS being a relatively newish model, that’s a very healthy selection not including the standard RO. If it isn’t one of the most successful sport watches ever it should be. |

You’re not the only one to have expressed this view. I see Offshores as fun watches, so the more the merrier in my view.

I wish I had wrists to wear a ROO. I love how funky some of them are. Like the Montauk.
I don't think there are many DJ versions if you look at the current model. I wish they used more and different dials like in the 80s. It's either black, blue, silver or something else. Where did he go? |

OP, you've been here a while and seen many members here banned for inciting pure negativity, don't push it.

My hope is sensitive people like us toughen and find the strength to take things less personally, and maybe begin to accept that we don’t know everything in someone’s mind via a social media. |

We all love Rolex but they have too many versions of the oyster perpetual. Sub, SD, DSSD, GMT, yacht master, sky-dweller, date just, day date, Daytona, etc. all just slight design and movement changes of the oyster perpetual line.
There’s more diversity in the RO and ROO lines vs Rolex OP line with movements/complications and materials used they just don’t make up clever sub names. |

The surprise to me was that I always held AP PP VC on a higher level than Rolex. So the vast assortment offered from a 40k unit per year manufacture caught me by surprise. For context, the one I’m considering is a used ROOC ‘elephant’. It needs a new band but all in all it’s more robust than I expected from a historical haute manufacturer - which is nice. |

I think you will find A consensus that for a period of time AP went overboard on the LE variants. Thankfully that was corrected and now we normally get a few new variants such as the camo etc. which I think is a good thing because it keeps the ROO line fresh.

I do agree some were avantgarde. It does however appear they hit a home run and the risk was worth it. Now, I’m torn with other versions of this model. |
