116520>16520=116500...

16520 and 116500 have a very similar look in regard to the dial, of which I am not particularly a fan..

Agree the 116500 is better than 116520 in white, but I'll argue it also looks good in black. White is sexier and black is more elegant IMO.
I know buddy.......I was going to edit but got busy and forgot. Its not just the size and layout of the sundials, its the black on those rings that really make it pop versus those silver tone rings that are so meh with the white.

I know, but 500c also has black rings. I think black subdial rings and black bezel just work extremely well on 500c. Whereas the Zenith works because of placement and them being thinner. If it didn't have it going for it the 500c would definitely be the better looking watch. Silver rings work with black dial but they just get lost on white dial. And not in a good way.

Lots of white dial pics, figured I'd throw in a photo of the black 116500 for the sake of variety

What do you think?
500 looks proper sports watch. Even though I like 520, it looks a jewelry more than a sports watch!

Easy for me...i prefer 500 for ceramic and more contrast (black bezel and rings). I had the 520 white, but just didn't sing to me. I also think the 500 "looks bigger" which I prefer as the 520 was on the small side already.

520 if white, 500 if black.

I've owned 520 in both and currently have the 500 in black.

I'd love to add a 16520 in white, but the prices have become too high...

I have both. I actually prefer the look of the white 116520 due to silver rings, giving it an elegant monochromatic look that can go anywhere. However, the 116500 is very sporty and the ceramic bezel is almost impossible to scratch. Kinda apples and oranges...Can’t go wrong with either really, but there you have it.

i'd go for 116500 in this case, but if I've a choice with 16520 with Zenith movement, then i'll go for it.

Not my watches but a friend of mine has a nice collection and this is my favourite combo of the 500 and 520.

White Ceramic is top of the list for me due to the way the colours work but there’s just something about the Steel which gives it a classic look.

Ceramic looks like a toy watch. 520 has class like the classic 16610, 16710 etc. Modern sports watch just don’t work for me, they are too trend driven in design and clumsy looking but that’s just my opinion

The ceramic gives it a more robust look (more manly I think) and of course more durable!

I have spent hours staring at the 520 Takuya has on his site. For a reason I can't explain it just "talks to me".

The only thing i like better on the previous SS version is that the bezel is a tad narrower than the ceramic. Otherwise, 1165oo is my vote.

I really do like all different iterations of the Daytona. The 16520,116520 and 116500 are all great looking pieces. I settled on the black 116500 a couple years back. I was very close to picking up an excellent condition 116520 but the way the numbers fade on the bezel was a dealbreaker for me. The durability of the ceramic bezel tipped the scales.

It’s a decision you can’t go wrong with though.

I voted 500, but I do like the 520 black as well. Both look great to me.

If I were getting one at market price presently, I would probably just get the more modern iteration.

116520 all day. More of a timeless classic. The hype around the ceramic ones kills it for me even more.

520. 500 has always looked contrived and cheap to me. Like my son’s toy watch.
