This omega was offered to me for the price of a Rolex hulk
Hello fellow members
So this omega was offered to me for about what a hulk is selling on Chrono24, I had a hulk and sold it and was thinking of going back to it one more time, till this watch was offered to me, it’s a 44mm full white gold aqua terra it weighs about 250 grams on the scale, bare in mind no box or papers, and no extra links it barely fit me and please all advice are welcome. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

On Chrono24 there are dealers in Japan selling it with box and papers for $7700. This is on a strap instead of a bracelet but it gives you an idea of the “asking” price. In the end just buy what you like and would enjoy wearing. But if your question is whether you’re getting a remarkable deal, my response would be probably not.

I would pass. Nice watch but I have a feeling that if you buy it, it is yours. Get the Hulk, it is special, even if some don't want to acknowledge it.

My 2 cents:
Don’t buy a watch just because you think it is a good deal. Now if you love the watch that’s different. But a watch, particularly a precious metal watch, should be about loving the watch, not ‘getting a bargain’. |

it'a a great watch, i have the red gold version.
original msrp was 45k. i can't believe it'd be offered for under 10k but i will check it out. regardless, they could both be hard to get so just go with what your heart tells you |

White gold Omega for the same price as a SS Rolex? I would have a hard time passing on that Omega.

Do you love it and will wear it daily?
i'd pass and keep the Hulk, yet that's me.

I wouldn’t pay $5k for that omega - no offense but oversized case , undersized registers.. it is just awkward . And no b/p ? Forget about it...

i suspect it's a stainless steel version, not seeing any white golds under 20k, and none on chrono.
it's a very hard reference number to find imo. yeah sure it's an Omega, so msrp is misleading. but it's also an Omega, a superb timepiece - easily better than a sub imho, and at 250g of gold, i do happen to love mine more than my DDII at 220g |

The asking price on both is ridiculous.

i'd say msrp is too high on the omega, and gray is too high on the hulk - maybe even msrp now really

No, I'd much prefer the Omega Speedmaster broad Arrow Chronograph 42mm
which you can get for 30% of the cost you are looking at but its all about what speaks to you (if not an investment purchase). Good luck!

i think 14k is a very good deal actuallly. i've only seen that reference, actually not the white gold, for sale a few times, and at around 25k.
it's subjective though i guess. it's not a piece everyone is looking for like the hulk. but to me there is absolutely no contest in the omega being the much much much better deal. i may even ask you for the contact info should you pass on it |

I didn't notice the white gold part so my previous post is wrong. If you like the watch I think for a WG piece the price is very reasonable.

I love Omega and have a Planet Ocean Chrono as well as a Speedy Pro. That said, I'm not a big fan of the this particular watch. As someone else stated, the chrono registers are too small and fall towards the center of the dial too much, and space is filled in with the big hour indices. Then there is the dreaded 4:30 date window with a diagonally oriented date.
I greatly prefer the more updated automatic chrono movements with a bicompax subdial layout and date at 6:00. Or alternatively, the tricompax layout sans date. Across brands, it irks me when an older small movement is put into an upsized case, which is evident when looking at both the dial layout and the caseback. Only exception for me is the AP ROO which somehow makes it work. |

p.s. considering the price difference and assuming it's a special piece for the rest of your life I'd get a complete set bnib in this case. |

If you really want the omega, maybe. But, if you try to sell it later you are likely going to take a huge bath.

You’d have to be as mad as a box of frogs to pay over 40k euros for one of these. Sorry, who is actually doing that?

I would NEVER trade my LV sub for ANY Omega. You would have to be crazy or maybe looking for more value on paper like many are around here.

I wouldn't do it personally as this model looks awkward. Undersized dials. I'm sure you can find one for a better price!

The hulk is a no go. It’s an homage piece, like a commerative coin to the real deal black
Sub. The green is pastel and pasty looking and the giant lugs make the watch out of balance. I know people will say take the hulk, but sorry folks the movement is better in the omega, it’s antimagnetic, and as and likely more accurate. The green monster does not win this one. |

The only thing remarkable with this is that is white gold, but I don't find white gold remarkable enough to overcome the rest of it.
This is one of those watches that doesn't really mean anything. It's another example of Omega overproduction and proliferation of references. It would be like Rolex making a Datejust Chronograph. Then making it in STEEL, TT, YG, RG, WG. Each with 3 or 4 dials colors. There is no reason for it to even exist... That's how a $45K retail turns into $8K preowned. Toxic stuff... |

There's a reason why it hasn't held value. I would pass unless of course it's really tugging at your heart.
