Leather straps quality issue..crazy disappointing.

I had Very Disappointing experience with AP leather straps..2 sets of new leather straps split at the lugs..within 2months of light usage..

Brought the 1st pair new from boutique, the straps split within 3weeks, AP SC kindly replace me a new set and the same problem happen again!!

These straps are just not beefy enough at the lug areas..
For the price they cost this is Not acceptable..

My leather strap on my ROC was also not the sturdiest, there was a lot pressure on the lugs esp on a PM piece, so rubber is def the best way to go, think AP realised this on the 44s.

Or some waterproof leather models from gunny straps or strap freaks may be better than rubber for those time you want something nicer.

Fully behind you. Not acceptable if its a design/manufacturing flaw and not just a lemon. Had considered getting a hornback.

NEVER getting another AP leather strap again on any Offshore..AP should not release such poor quality product!!
The SC here keep selling me tat it's a wear n tear issue therefore not warrantied.
Told them that the replace straps they gave me is torn in less then 3 week of super light usage..they stop blaming it on wear n tear.

I agree completely. AP should take care of this for you. Remember that its just glue that holds the leather, theres no other way around it. Did you swim or shower with it?

No swimming or any water contact.
Super light use, as being a gold watch I can't wear it daily.

Yikes... That's terrible. AP should definitely do something. These straps they sell aren't cheap to begin with.

AP has replied, saying that they will investigate further and get back to me..
Besides the terrible quality, the 2nd thing that angered me is the lousy complaint handling at the SG SC.
Replacing a faulty product with another is Not a Solution!!

Has AP gotta back to you about your strap? Mine has the same issue for my grey theme..

I had half of the strap replaced earlier on due to poorly glued leather on the one of the band when I got it New.. now the other half has the same issue as yours out of the blue.. planned to go AP tmr to enquire what’s wrong

I've looked a few used straps for sale now and many of these have this stripping back at the lug holes. A Design fault.

They glued back my faulty damage piece and offered me an additional new pair of straps.. avoiding anymore leather strap.
I choose a new pair of rubber strap.

Agree it's either a design fault or a lack of testing before they release the product..
Did share that with AP, when we communicated.
To pay so match $$ for frustration..it's crazy!!

Oh gosh.. let’s see what they say later.. mine can’t be glued as a portion of it broke off.. it’s definitely a quality issue I reckon.

I am a long time AP fans but I gotta say the leather strap does have these problems. That's why I switch them to rubber. OP's problem happened on my 44mm leather strap as well which I paid a hefty price for such leather strap, but my Grand Prix alcantara strap is totally in shape after 2 years of winter usage.
