231 and 140 - Why the large price diff.?

Hi,

I started looking at the 231 recently as I feel it's competitively priced, however I've come to the conclusion that I prefer the Luminor range over the Radiomir range...

I just had a quick search on Chrono24 and the price difference between the 231 (the cheapest gold Radiomir) and the 140 (the cheapest Luminor) and the Luminor is almost twice as expensive as the 231.

How come? Is more gold used in making the 140? (I've never worn a Radiomir, so not sure on size difference IRL)
