All,
I know this discussion has probably happened multiple times, but I am a new owner of a SS white dial Daytona. My question is, should I be able to see a crown etched on the crystal at the 6:00 position?
I am not asking to authenticate my watch as I know for certain it is due to buying new from an AD, but it is one of those fine details that would be cool to see if it does exist on this model.

It should be there but on a no date model is not sure it will be at the 6 o'clock position. It's hard to find but
don't give up.

the etched coronet is definitely there........However, it is necessary to have the watch with the correct lighting and at a certain angle to be able to see it. Typically, direct sunlight at an extreme angle will often do the trick (with very good eyesight)

Once you see it the first time it is easier to see in the future. The best I can describe how to find it is to take it off. Hold the watch under a light and look at the 6 area at different angles. You will eventually see it. If you have a loupe use that.

In a pitch black room like a windowless bathroom or closet with the door closed. Shine a penlight or small maglite across the surface of the crystal and the etched crown will appear like magic. You can't miss it. Don't even need a loupe.

I found mine.

It is also visible in close up of the photo that became my avatar on this site. You can see it if you look closely at the first photo on this thread

It will be there, but very difficult to see over a white dial.
