Very sorry for you and your wife (and kids). My wife’s father passed away last October and she wasn’t allowed to go to her home province (Manitoba) for the funeral (due to COVID). These are tough times. All the best.

Thanks everyone, this afternoon was rough. They did the funeral service and buried him today and my poor wife was the only child not there. She was not allowed to travel overseas as she was in the hospital in august for a week due to complications of her pancreas from the tumor they removed about ten years ago. Starting tomorrow the grieving process is in full affect. If anything, I cannot believe the amount of admiration I have gained for my wife throughout this, the strength she has is unbelievable.

Very sorry for your loss. Just know that you and your kids are not alone…
And with this whole Covid disaster, I know of many who have lost and couldn’t have funerals or grieve with others. Very devastating.
My deepest condolences.

So sorry for your loss. My kids also never had grandfathers but we speak of them often. I hope you have a chance to take Atone up on the offer.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to your family.

If you can, continue to talk about these special people to keep their memories alive for your kids. My dad passed away before my daughter was born but I always told her stories, about his life and my childhood adventures with him to keep him close. If he could walk into a room today she’d know him even though they’ve never met.
