For people who own a Rolex and a smartwatch

Question for those who owns Rolex/Rolexes and also own a smartwatch.

1. How often do you wear your smartwatch?

2. Why did you buy a smartwatch?

3. Do you get more or less enjoyment from wearing your smartwatch > Rolex watch

Cheers

1) Never; I decided that they are a nuisance.

2) Bought an early smart watch because I wanted to be more in touch.

3) Wear a Fitbit Flex 2 on my other wrist which transfers info to by Cell. It's not a smart watch and I definitely get more enjoyment out of my Rolex.

1.Smart watch is only for sports (tennis, running etc) where a Rolex would not be really useful. When I coach or play tennis, if I wear my applewatch, I can still get notifications when the phone is in my bag which is nice.

2.See 1.

3.No real enjoyment. It is a black square. It is useful for some stuff as I said. The rubber strap is really comfortable I must admit. But anything else than sports (or worknig on the car or house) it's either the Rolex or Tudor.

I wear my watch on the left wrist and Fitbit on the right. Been doing this for a while now and to be honest, I started seeing more and more people doing the same.

Usually wear my Apple Watch at work when I need the notifications on things. Tried to use it as a one an only but failed. Way to much of a WIS. Just going to go back to a Fitbit on the right wrist.

I am still not fully 'adapted' to people wearing a 'smartwatch' as their daily wear. Something about it rubs me the wrong way -- it's as if the whole 24/7 cell phone / computer / email connection is not enough - now we need to literally 'strap' an electronic device to our arm to be even more over-notified of every fart that occurs online.

I do wear a garmin GPS watch strictly for exercise (gym / swim / run / hike) to keep track of distance and time - and something about wearing a rolex to the gym ain't right to me either.

The closest I'm getting to a smart watch is a nice quartz beater. The idea of taking a watch off and connecting it to a charger every day is annoying.

The things I like about the Flex 2 are 1) it can be used to track swimming, 2) it can be set to notify of phone calls and texts, and 3) it unobtrusive resembling a bracelet as opposed to a watch.

Just got an Apple Watch for my workouts. It's useful. But when I'm in clinic I'm usually wearing my Rolex or Tudor. I enjoy the tech of my smart watch but far and away enjoy my other watches more.

Ceramic Sub ND on left wrist, Samsung Gear Frontier on right.

1. How often do you wear your smartwatch?
Daily

2. Why did you buy a smartwatch?
Leave brick phone @ home. Overall convenience.

3. Do you get more or less enjoyment from wearing your smartwatch > Rolex watch
Since they are worn at same time, it's ALMOST the same. One is a wrist computer with built-in phone, GPS, etc, and the other is a Rolex :)

ok, I got the apple watch 38 mm stainless two days after being released. I had to drive upstate 1 1/2 hour to get and pay a $200 premium. I wore it for a few months and even tried every kind of band available. The rubber one was my favorite since it was toe most comfortable. I put on my FB, IG and more and I even said "got new apple watch how long till being in my junk drawer". I wore the watch for 3-4 months and told everyone how great it is, my family pretty much gave me the look that they always do, here we go again. I only had a YM 16622 and went back to wearing forgetting my iWatch. Rolex makes a statement and plus you don't need to charge or change battery.

1) In rotation or when i know I'm going to appreciate the notfications coming through
2) It was a present
3) Its different. I like it more than I thought I would. I have a lot of different watches I wear and I enjoy them all for what they are.

1. How often do you wear your smartwatch?
I wear a smartwatch a couple of times each week

2. Why did you buy a smartwatch?
I bought a Garmin Forerunner 230 for running and a Garmin Approach X40 for Golf because they are more useful than any Rolex could ever be.

3. Do you get more or less enjoyment from wearing your smartwatch > Rolex watch
I probably get the same enjoyment out of both but for different reasons. I love wearing my Rolex. I always smile when looking at the dial and still can't believe, after nearly 2 years of ownership how lucky I am to have it. My smartwatches are just so useful for the activity they are designed for.

1. How often do you wear your smartwatch?
Never anymore... Apple Watch has been sat on its charger for 6 months or so after only getting a couple of weeks wrist-time at most.

2. Why did you buy a smartwatch?
Because I love tech and thought it would be good, and mostly because it auto-unlocked my Mac when near - but now I have a new mac with touchID anyway

3. Do you get more or less enjoyment from wearing your smartwatch > Rolex watch
Mechanical watch all day.. Flirted with the smartwatch and soon realised they are part of the ongoing throwaway society we are now in. Mech watches are timeless (forgive the pun), smart watches become obsolete almost as soon as they're realised.

Obviously smartwatches/devices can do things a mechanical watch can never do - so like many, I now have a mechanical watch on the left wrist, and a FitBit (Alta HR) on the right - more than happy with this configuration; best of both worlds by far.

I heard a radio announcer say "With mobile phones these days we don't need a wrist watch."

That's be most logical support for the proposition that if its just to tell the time and appointments one doesn't need a smart watch if one has a mobile phone.

On the other hand a Rolex is a true mechanical masterpiece and a true work of art, so the purpose and appreciation is entirely different.

I wear my Apple watch for exercise, every day.

I wear my other watches every day for work and pleasure.

It is not a contest, they are tools. There is no "more or less".

I'm going to buy an Apple Watch in sha allah soon and I'll be wearing it all the time.

Buying a smart watch for work purposes. To set myself reminders and view my emails on the go and keep on top of them. Maybe also to tell the time as I always check my phone

Rolex I'd only wear daytime a basic unembellished discrete one for work

And slightly embellished DJ for functions, days out, shopping, beach holidays

I don't tend to wear jewelry at most usually just a couple bracelets

Got Suntoo from my Wife which I loved for first 4 weeks but always got confused with too many options and set ups.

With Rolex I on wrist it is fairly simple. Time and date. This what you need.

I figured that if I got lost without GPS I would ask somebody on street for directions.

1. At first almost every day for a month or so

2. Sounded fun to receive messages and to track activities

3. I sold the smartwatch already. Not in any way a watch like a Rolex/Breitling

I had a Samsung Gear S3 and i even bought a Samsung phone for it instead while i'm a hardcore iphone junky. But at the end the phone was crap (Samsung 7 Edge) and the watch was boring.

Bought an apple watch, wore it for a few weeks and went back to my Rolexes.

Bought a Samsung gear s3, wore it a few weeks and again went back to my Rolexes.

Started wearing them for running only but stopped recently.

I guess I'm too much of a WIS to appreciate smart watches

I won't be buying a smartwatch per se, but I do own a Fitbit Charge 2 and I wear it almost every day. Sometimes, I forget to put it on, but it's rare.

I usually wear it on my left arm with my my regular watch, because my bowling glove prevents me from putting on my right arm.

On those days that I don't bowl and I leave the apartment, I will put it on my right arm, but often I forget to do that.

Technically, I could ditch the watch, as the Fitbit tells time, but I prefer to use my watch for the time and my watch doesn't keep track of my activity.

I really don't care what others might think about it.

I wear my Apple Watch during sports and while I sleep as a sleep monitor (using the app called Pillow - it works great as it wakes me during the light sleep cycle within a given time span in the morning).

I got the Apple Watch very cheap, wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.

I definitely enjoy wearing my non quartz watches the most.
