What dial feature is a deal-breaker to you?

Okay, here's the scenario: you've found a watch, and everything is perfect about it except for ONE thing on the dial. It could be something with the markers, color, hands, style or anything else.

For me, it's roman numeral train-tracks: I just don't care for the design.

I can’t stand when a subdial interrupts a numeral (Arabic or Roman) hour marker. I don’t mind if a marker is omitted, but I don’t want half of the numeral!

I would like to like the SkyDweller dial but I find it too complicated...has too much going on.

Was offered one in December but politely declined.

I just wouldn’t be interested in any watch that didn’t sing to me on every level.

Let's have a list.

For me, its different for every watch. I like diamonds, but I don't trade a fluted bezel for a diamond bezel.

I must have a fluted bezel, the oyster perpetual or air king being the exception.

For a datejust: Gold fluted bezel, stick markers, champagne dial, YELLOW DATE (something I have YET to see on a Datejust 41 / Datejust II.), jubilee bracelet.

For a day/date: gold fluted bezel, diamond markers, diamond row.

Don't settle - these watches cost too much to buy something that isn't exactly what you want. You'll be sad in the future - and end up selling it. Make sure you get exactly what you want if possible.

Completely agree, the Tudor north flag doesn't have those silly snowflake hands.

Lack of any lume, too much text, too many fonts. I also can't stand sword hands.

This is an example of a fantastic chrono. Absolutely blows the Daytona out of the water in terms of legibility, simplified text, and 0 bling factor.

I agree, it is so so good and I love it, but I just get caught on the 12 and 6. So for me it fits OP question perfectly. Love everything about it, except that one dial detail. I keep coming back to it though (the Portugueser line in general) so maybe one day I will see past it.

Same here mate! I was all over this watch until I watched a YouTube video and it pointed out the date window just knocking everything out of synch and I just couldn't unsee it

Not that I dislike roman numerals, but they're just not for me style wise

Ditto.

Puts me out of the market on most Tudors in the line up.

Still love the Advisor though.

Absolutely agree
This keeps better time than any of my watches including Speedmaster and Daytona

Yellow and orange dials or accents. I’d probably have tried a NF by now if not for the yellow.

I don't like a crowded dial, like the Daytona.

I know that may be criminal to say that in these parts, but it could be massively improved (for my liking) if they just trimmed down the dial clutter.

I love chronographs, but they must have a 12 hr register!

Anything that kills the readability of the dial like chronometers.

I'm the opposite -- missing markers (or markers replaced with something smaller but different) really bug me. I'd much prefer to see half-numerals. I like the dimensionality of a dial that looks like subdials are sitting on top of the main dial, and nothing feels like it's missing.

So, naturally, how IWC does it is actually my preference.

Tudor snowflake hands and mini dials that are off-center like Skydweller.
