Esslinger Alternative
I have a new watch coming and need to adjust the bracelet but of course, all AD's are shut down and I wouldn't mind learning to adjust it myself.
Anyway, I wanted to order a Bergeon 7825 (or Horofix tweezer equivalent) and Horotec 'T' Shape Screwdrivers 1.6 mm but Esslinger seems to be closed for the next few weeks. Can anyone suggest an alternate place to purchase or if the items are not available, alternative products. I would like to do this adjustment sooner than later. Thanks |

I found the one that I think you are talking about. Hopefully it works out. Thanks. Now just need to get the spring bar tool.

Trust me, that Panerai screwdriver is perfect for mens Rolex. Unless you definitely need to move the micro-adjust in the clasp, you can do without the spring bar tool. Bracelet doesn't necessarily need to be removed to size it.

Don't forget to heat up the area with a hair dryer. The screw will turn easily. I like to use purple Loctite when putting the screw back in. If you don't have purple available, use clear fingernail polish until you can get some. At least that is my M.O.

Thanks. I have some Loctite 222 on its way. I hope that the screws won't put up too much of a fight coming out.

Everything is slow now. US carriers are no longer guaranteeing transit times. Even if you find a reseller who promises a one-hour turnaround and priority overnight shipping, the carriers aren't currently adhering to their service guarantee times. Patience is key. |

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought that I would ask here first. Well the watch came and I had a question about the last screw near the clasp. Can I remove it? The reason I ask is there is the obvious place to use the screwdriver, but unlike every other link, on the other side, you can't see that the screw goes all the way through. I just want to make sure this is also removable before I try really hard to only figure out that it cannot be removed.
Also would you try to heat up the end to help remove the threadlock just like the other screws? I have attached pics to show what I'm talking about. |

Yes, you can remove that one. It's a blind hole and the screw is a couple millimeters shorter than the rest.

As a follow up, the procedure was a success. My first time adjusting at home and I liked it better than at the AD. I could move links around from one side to the other and not have folks roll their eyes at how picky I was being.
Anyway, the screwdriver that NKflyer recommended worked like a charm. I have attached a pic so you can see that it is the right shape. Only one screw stuck. I heated it up a little but still needed a little more pressure to take it out. But nothing slipped or stripped. Also attached a quick shot of the fit. |

Just wanted to bump this thread and say thank you to the participants!
I resized my watch successfully a few days ago and am super happy with the fit and the experience. I will post a thread about it later! |

Nice to hear of more watches successfully resized by owners and thus not being butchered by the incompetent #@*&!% ham-fisted sales associates.
