Wait just a cotton-pickin' minute here. Three full kegs in three weeks? For real? Forget Budweiser, my friend, YOU ARE THE KING OF BEERS!

Small jacuzzi is a nice compromise, have heater and cooler unit, 20 laps a day and fitness also covered

We're having some issues with the TV lift behind the pool/waterfalls but other than that everything has been pretty smooth.

I went with the UV/Ozone filtration system and also have an auto cover so maintenance is pretty easy. Paying a company $125 a month right now but will probably just do it myself. Gas bill really went up (before was $50 a month to over $350). I'm 2 miles from the beach so its high 60s in CA right now and kids have been using it daily so I'm keeping the pool at 82* and the spa at 105*. I've also been BBQing everyday as well as using the fire pits because we really haven't left the house with the shelter in place order.

We've only been using it a month but with 3 small kids (6, 4 and 15 months) its already been my best investment ever. Family enjoyment is worth far more than any watch.

some watches, then pool, then more watches

At least you can take some nice watch photos by or in the pool with a drink (or two)

Pool is great right now during stay at home orders. Crank up the music enjoy the sun, exercise, etc. I live in Florida so I can use year round. But like most have said maintaince costs are high and when there is not a pandemic we don’t use that much. Also realistically you would not be able to complete a new pool until long after the stay at home orders have been lifted and the covid 19 threat has subsided. Besides the construction there are many permits to be obtained and I doubt those will have high priority at this time and therefore delay the project considerably. Enjoy your watches!

5 gallon kegs lol

Three of those is equivalent to one standard keg approx.

I'll take watches 99 times out of 100. I'd need a sizable pool for me to be able to enjoy it, as I love swimming laps. A small[er] pool, by comparison, is just for splashing around. As a condo owner, and not a homeowner, I'm under the impression that a pool may decrease the value of a property because of the inherent insurance risk (kids drowning). I view pools like I view boats... I'd rather have a friend with a boat and pay for gas/food/beer/whatever to have fun for a day, rather than absorb the costs of ownership. I'd rather go to a friend's house that has a pool & bring him a trunk full of beers & BBQ, than own my own pool & pay to maintain it and pay for the increased homeowners' insurance.

But, hey, who am I? This is the internet. Get a pool & get a a fence.

Don't think you're ever going to get your money back in property value but depending on where you live (climate and type of house) it could affect it more. We can use the pool year round and most people looking to buy a home in the area want a pool. Only other options are a golf club membership or a high end resort style gym ($250-$800+/mo).

With 3 small kids my wife wouldn't get a pool unless we got the auto cover. I didn't love the idea a first because of the limited shape you can make the pool/spa but the safety factor is worth it and it makes the pool super easy to clean and heat. Can hold 350lbs/sqft. Daughter putting the pump on.

Same here, we have an auto cover that can support a similar weight. It is 100% necessary with children in the house. We also fenced the area so deer and other animals can't get in and mess things up.

Very smart, guys. I'm glad that you both are taking the necessary precautions to keep people safe.

We use our pool every other day during the lockdown.

Kids would use it everyday if up to them.
