Another incoming - Superocean 57 blue rainbow

Just arrived! I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it is a fantastic watch. The blue bezel and dial have a lot of depth and are slightly different in hue. The rainbow indices are just a perfect fit with the blue — subtle yet stands out.

I was concerned about the concave bezel. On the wrist, it is not noticeable and adds visual interest to the watch. The watch is much smaller in person than in pictures.

The only issue I have is with the bracelet. It is not a true mesh bracelet. I have small wrists and the bracelet is doesn’t drop down from the lugs. Instead it is almost like having solid links. Once I have it sized properly, I’ll see how it fits. Overall, it is fast becoming one of my favorite watches.

Congrats- it’s a beautiful watch!

Would the dealer let you try a rubber strap on it?

Thanks! I don’t think Breitling makes a rubber strap for this watch. It comes in leather or their eco-nato fabric.

Apologies- I didn’t check the lug width of the watch before posting. The diver pro rubber strap comes in 20mm, but I’m not sure it would suit the watch as well as the mesh rubber.

I might look into a tropic rubber strap for it.

How are you still getting along with it? Recently tried the outerknown. Kinda liked the strap. Wouldn’t be a bad knock around watch with a small discount.

What does a rainbow have anything to do with front line workers?

I would say that this is one of my favorite acquisitions this year. I’ve switched out the mesh for a leather strap for now and wears great.

I have no reservations recommending this watch.

From Breitling website:

A LIMITED EDITION SUPPORTING OUR FRONTLINE HEROES IN THE GLOBAL FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

With this Limited Edition and its rainbow-inspired design elements that one can see as a symbol of hope and optimism, Breitling wants to support a great cause.

Part of the proceeds from the watch are being donated to leading charities supporting the frontline healthcare workers in the global fight against COVID-19 in some of the most affected countries.

.....The remarkable commitment of the healthcare professionals, combined with the enthusiastic feedback for its first rainbow watch, led Breitling to create the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II, which features a blue dial and rainbow design elements. The brand wanted to make a meaningful gesture in support of the healthcare workers and is contributing part of the proceeds from the new watch to charities in the countries hit hardest by the pandemic. These donations were made immediately upon the announcement of the new watch. Breitling is also donating an additional CHF 1000 to these charities for each of the first 100 Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II watches sold via www.breitling.com. In total, the company will donate CHF 500,000, which will be split equally among six charities, and is encouraging its retail partners to contribute to the initiative.....

Yea... im still not getting the rainbow. Im a first responder and that has nothing to do with first responders

If they would of did a special collection of police, firefighter, military or healthcare worker watches that would be understandable.

Rainbows....well. No comment

started in the UK as a tribute to the healthcare staff at NHS, the National Health Service, spread to Canada and across Europe, but nowhere as massively as in the UK.

I see. Still weird to me. When i think of a rainbow it doesnt mean hope to me. And it probably doesnt mean hope to alot of others as well. At first i taught it commemorated pride/ pride month since thats when it was introduced i beleive.

When i think of a rainbow... “ i think of a lepracuan and pot of gold” tell me im not crazy
