I watched Netflix yesterday for 16 hours.

MAN. What a workout.

I realize this may be a bit too extreme for most people, but I have worked my way up to it.

I have been having weird workouts.

Every room has some kind of equipment. So I did the elliptical this am, but I am going pushups, air squats, planks and all sorts of things depending on where I am.

I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER when I workout. It is uncanny at how much of a different there as to how the day goes.
For me personally, if I’m sitting at home watching TV or doing something unproductive, I get hungry. Working out is a great distraction. 100 in 5 mins..damn, that’s impressive. And you’re right, one of the best body weight workouts, IMO

I’m the same way.

Doing nothing means I’m eating.

And trust me, that was a while ago. Back in my Xfit days. But man, I’d love to get there again.

I'm trying.

I call it cross training.

Every hour of sitting and I do a trip to the fridge and get a beer. Then bicep curls for 10 minutes.

Every 2 hours I get a snack and work out my jaws for 10 minutes.

Then rest and repeat.

Netflix is one of the better fitness programs but BritBox and Acorn are pretty awesome as well.

Britbox! I’m running through all the old sitcoms I watched living in London as a kid. Brings back so many memories.

As long as CDC and govt doesn’t take away my running, I’ll stay sane! Keeping social distance is east on park roads.

Which reminds me I'll have to look for Kingdom, with Steven Fry, shot around 2006 which was as great series.

Great show! Just finished the first season of “As time goes by,” with Judy dench and Geoffrey Palmer.

Finally warmed up enough for a nice run with the dog this morning, until the rain and snow started. Still felt great to get out for about 4 miles.

Hiked on Sunday, took a 5 mile walk yesterday, and borrowed some hand weights so I can get a light lift in. Also threw in some sit-ups and push-ups.

Today, planning on the same as yesterday.

Any motion is better than no motion at all...

Missing the gym...I have enough at home to get a decent workout in, but just not the same for me. Generally I am a one body part a day guy. Do legs twice a week. Did shoulders this morning with dumbbells and resistance bands. Got a decent pump. 4 different exercises, 4 sets, to failure.

Legs tomorrow. Need to be creative for dumbbell leg day. Lunges, squats, raises. Maybe some yoga to finish.

I did some interval training on the airdyne bike today. I left hurting.

Then a bunch of resistance training specific to the back.

Mostly different rows.

Later in the day I finally went on a run. Gentle like down to the local park. Jog, walk run type stuff. Did some pull ups and dips and whatnot until I realized I was touching things other people touched.

Then I jogged back home. Sigh...

Based off the last 2 maps you live on the same side of town as me like 5-10 minutes away. Nice seeing other Nashville people in here.

On the thread topic. I miss lifting since the Y closed. Currently I’m just doing a mix of.

5-6 sets of 20 pushups until I can’t do them anymore whether it be on the 5th or 6th set with 30 second rests between sets.

5-6 sets of leg lifts or sit-ups of 30 reps.

5 sets of burpees at 20 reps with push-up in middle (full disclosure I haven’t made it all the way through these)

5 sets of 20 of squats or lunges

5 sets of 20 of body weight rows (set up a board between two ladders and pull my chest to it with my feet on a chair)

5 sets of 20 of dips

Pull ups when I can

Run when I can. Weather has been crap here lately with the rain.

Just kinda makeup whatever body weight stuff I can and do roughly 100 reps or until I can’t any longer.

Been lifting for a while. I’m enjoying how the body weight exercises are doing so far though. I can see the difference as these are sort of cutting down some of the bulk from lifting.

Its been tough missing the gym as well. I've been working out with my kids in the garage. I ran to the store and bought weights just before everything started closing. I wish I'd bought a bench and some rubber mats.

Today's workout:
Shoulders
Dumbell side raises
Dumbell front raises
Dumbell standing press
Legs:
Freeweight Squats
Weighted Dumbell Squats

May take you up on it one of these days.

I was doing it pretty regularly at the Y but had to start cutting down a little on the distance recently in the interest of time since I lift too and have 3 kids. Now that the Y has closed down I need some better routes to run, and it’s good to run with someone to help keep motivated. I may do the Harpeth Greenway today now that the weather has cleared a bit.

I’ve been mixing it up with kettlebells, Concept2 Rower, and the Rogue Assault Bike. If anyone wonders why you shouldn’t wear a watch while working out try doing a kettlebell clean with one!

No run today, trip to the ER instead. Damned plow took out my mailbox. Drill slipped re-attaching the box to the pole, putting a bit into my finger. Pretty much the last place on earth I want to be in these days.

Interval run for me today. 2 mile warmup then 6 x 400m laps. It's getting hot here in FL and making these lunch workouts a lot harder.

I live in a very tiny nearly 300 year old cottage. My wife's face was as long as the new rowing machine that was delivered this morning when I put it in the dressing room. I did try to placate her by suggesting that she would need no more room for new clothes as the wardrobe was bursting at the seams with her garments anyway. That didn't work. Being isolated, I tried to lighten the tone slightly when I mentioned that she could look forward to dressing up for taking out the trash. Strangely, that didn't work either.

Nice Dave.

Slow and steady wins the race. With a short burst of big energy every few minutes.
