i'll ask the obvious - have you looked between the lugs?

plus, what's the diameter of the case?

The bracelet or at least the end links are aftermarket.

I've got 7 or 8 of the 1950s/1960s era Tudor gentleman's dress watches with 34 mm cases - whats odd is all of mine have casebacks with no engraving except for the model # & serial number engraved on them. But i'm not an expert on the dress watches by any means - that could be a later watch, which would or could explain that caseback.

If the seller isn't willing to take the effort to pull the bracelet and give you the model number & serial (even just the first 3 digits of the serial), then walk. Odds ar it's probably a franken watch. There 1st 3 digits of the serial will give you the year of production (https://sweepinghand.co.uk/useful-in...erial-numbers/)

I'm going to put 3 or 4 of mine up for sale soon, and they are all original and one of them looks to be that one's twin, with the original rivet bracelet.

Here's two i had on my desk, both are 34mm one from the 50s and one from the early 60s - note the model number & serial on the caseback without the rolex engraving

i just went back and took a 2nd look at your photos - if that solid link bracelet is orig tudor, that might be a late 70s Tudor (34mm would still have been a correct case diameter), but that's assuming it's an orig bracelet, and as someone else has already pointed out, the endlinks are not orig.

Without knowing the ref number, you're buying a "pig in the poke" and too many sellers are selling those these days.

i suspect if you wait a bit, you'll see prices on the Tudor dress watches falling like lead bricks as the Tudor dive watches ard dropping. Other than a few various models, i just don't see the attraction, but sellers seem to have jumped on the incredible price hikes on the Tudor dive watches as a signal that all tudors are rolexes.

The watch on the right up above, with the black strap is a model 7809 which is the model Tudor supplied to a British expedition that was going to explore north greenland and had asked Tudor for a watch that would handle the extreme temps. So it's become something of a valued dress watch - to be frank i only bought it for it's 1182 manual movement which was used in the Tudor 7923, and i had a dream of catching a Tudor 7923 dive watch - with prices now well past $30,000 that dream has vaporized. But i wanted that movement for spare parts in case.

The others i only bought for the FEF390 auto movement for the other tudor dive watches i've got. and i bought back when the top price on a 34mm Tudor dress watch was down at or below $400.

Here's a link to the history of the 7809 Expedition https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/vint...80-t26597.html

Another model that seems to have gone bonkers is the Tudor Ranger if you care to research it.
